Remarks :

I got admission to gect through lateral entry. After completing 3 years of a diploma you can apply for the b.tech lateral entrance exam and get admission directly to the second year. Non keralites can also apply for this entrance exam.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I choose b.tech in mechanical engineering because I like to study machines. There are around 75 students in a class including girls and boys. There are two sessional exams in a semester conducted by the college.

Class Size : 75Course Fees : INR 12000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

GEC provides good internships for their students. Teachers help students for getting good internships in good companies. Internships are very important for engineering students and it helps the students when they placements.

Placement Experience :

After completing the fifth semester, students are eligible for campus placements. Around 20 companies visit GEC for placements every year. the highest package is around 3LPa. almost all who complete the b tech can get campus placements.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

There are around 12000/- per year and there are separate fees for students who reside in the hostel. There are many scholarships for engineering students according to your category and merit score also our college alumni provides Safe scholarship for gect students.

Campus Life :

Campus Life at GEC is very good. And the annual fest in GEC is dyuthi and it's one of the popular cultural fests. Thrissur Motor Show-TMS is the motor show conducted by gect mechanical engineering students. gec has a wast college library which has many journals and other books.

NSSCE : AN OVERVIEW

Placement Experience:

The placements in college are quite good, with placement getting better each year. From semester 6 onwards, students get eligible for campus placements. Some of the companies that visit our college are ALSTOM, TCS, WIPRO, MRF, INFOSYS, SIEMENS, IBM, L&T, COGNUZANT, etc with the list getting long. The highest package offered this year was 12 LPA and the average was 4 LPA. In our senior bath, 70 out of 100 students got placed. My plan after getting the degree is to get a job through campus placement.

From semester 6, I guess as I'm not sure as I'm still in semester 2. The orientation programs led that way. The Highest package given was 77LPA. My plans after getting a degree are if got campus placement go for it and then save some money to go for Mtech, or else go for MTech with my parents' money and pay it back later or take an education loan.

From the end of the 6th semester, students will get placement calls. There is a training and placement cell in our college. The placements are through this. Companies like Zoho, Keyvalue, Open financial technologies, Alpha Ori, Soti and others have visited our colleges and selected many students. The highest packest in this academic year is 11 LPA and the lowest is 4 LPA. But still, companies are approaching and students are getting offers. Almost all students got placed. My plan after getting my B. Tech is to work in a well-known IT company.
