Richard A. Freund International Scholarship

Richard A. Freund International Scholarship, offered by the American Society for Quality (ASQ), is designed to support international students pursuing a master’s or doctorate in fields of Engineering and Statistics and working for quality control, quality assurance total quality management, and quality improvement.

  • Eligible students must have a GPA over 3.25 in their previous qualifications.
  • It is significant that the applicant is not a member of ASQ
  • Applicants must complete an application form on AQS website before April 1, 2023.
  • The scholarship program all students applying to any university to study abroad.
  • Recipients are awarded 5000 USD as one-time payment.

Eligibility Criteria

To obtain the benefits Richard A. Freund International Scholarship, applicants have to fulfill the eligibility criteria listed below :

  • Applicants should have a minimum GPA of 3.25 or higher, throughout UG and PG study.
  • Applicants pursuing a master’s or higher level of study are eligible,
  • The field of study must be in quality control, quality assurance, quality improvement, total quality management or similar quality emphasis programs.
  • Applicants need not be a member of ASQ.
  • International students are allowed and must not be attending high school currently.

Application Process

Students will only be accepted only upon submission of documentation indicating the acceptance of enrollment into the programs above mentioned.

A separate online application needs to be filled which can be accessed on ASQ’s website. Students are required to complete the application form and send it through email or courier to the address provided below.

Applications are required to be submitted before the deadline i.e. April 01. Students must download the pdf/doc of the form available on the website and fill it. They can submit their application form by either emailing program admin or via post.

Student Supporting Documentation

Along with the application, applicants have to attach required documents mentioned below:

  • Academic transcripts from previous institutions
    • Accompanied by certified English translations.
  • Letters of recommendation
    • To assess the candidate’s scholarly and/or work experience.
  • A formal written statement of 250 words addressing the applicant’s educational and career goals and why he/she deserves the scholarship.

As mentioned earlier, Richard A. Freund’s International Scholarship is offered to students pursuing Engineering Degrees and working towards quality control, quality assurance and management. Universities of the U.S., Australia, Canada, the U.K, Germany, Australia offer high-level engineering degrees.

It has been observed that the supporting documentation requirements vary from country to country. Therefore, it is important for students to know the admission requirements in various countries. The country-wise documentation requirements have been tabulated below:

Selection Process

For the 2023 scholarship program, applications along with required documents should be submitted before April 01, 2023. The organization will not entertain any documents submitted after the issued deadline.

The Selection Committee of ASQ will evaluate GPA, Essay, LOR, combined undergraduate and graduate study and work combining quality assurance and continuous improvement. The committee also focuses on the applicant’s commitment and action toward social responsibility and volunteer work.

As only one student gets awarded each year, the applicant who excels over others in all the above prospects will be selected for the award of scholarship. Recipient of the Richard A. Freund International Scholarship will be awarded an amount of 5000 USD.

Richard A. Freund’s International Scholarship is offered by the American Society For Quality is applicable for all universities in the USA, UK, Australia, India and many more.

The successful awardee will receive the prize before July of every year. Recipient of the scholarship will get 5000 USD that can be used for educational expenses.

The scholarship is available to international students pursuing a master’s or Doctorate in fields like quality control, quality assurance total quality management, and quality improvement.
