- Undertaking a PhD in Local Government Studies , you will have the opportunity to conduct original research under the guidance of academic supervisors within an active research environment, leading to an 80,000 word thesis. You will take a number of research training modules in your first year and may attend further courses offered by the Department or the University that enhance your personal discipline-specific and transferable skills.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- A good 2:1 honors degree or an equivalent qualification
- Applicants should hold a Masters qualification at merit level or above
- Any academic and professional qualifications or professional experience will be taken into account
English Language Requirements:
- IELTS: minimum 6.5 with minimum 6.0 in each band
- TOEFL: minimum 88 with 21 in reading; 21 in listening; 21 in writing and 22 in speaking
- PTE: 59 in all four skills
- Cambridge English: minimum 176 with 169 in each subskill
Indian Student Specific Requirements:
- Applicants should hold a bachelors degree with a completed masters degree
- Minimum 60% required from a recognized university
