Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University (KVAFSU) is an autonomous education institution which was established exclusively for the development of education and learning; conduct of research and extension education and transfer the rural oriented technologies in the areas of Veterinary, Animal, Dairy and Fisheries Sciences in Karnataka.

KVAFSU invites applications for admission to the Doctoral Degree programme i.e., Ph.D. in Veterinary and Animal Science from both Bidar and Bangalore campuses of Veterinary College, Ph.D. in Dairy Science from Dairy Science College, Bangalore and Ph.D. in Fisheries Science from College of Fisheries, Mangalore. KVAFSU PhD Eligibility Criteria

KVAFSU offers Ph.D. Programme in the following specialisations:

  • Veterinary and Animal Science
  • Dairy Science
  • Fisheries Science

Eligibility:

  • You should possess Master's Degree in respective subjects.
  • You should have an OGPA of 6.50/10 or equivalent percentage of marks for general category and 6.00/10 or equivalent OGPA/equivalent percentage of marks for SC/ST/Cat-I/ candidates at Master’s degree level.

KVAFSU PhD Selection Process

Your selection shall be done on merit on the basis of performance as per following scheme of evaluation:

You should obtain a minimum of 50% of total marks in case of general category and 35% of total marks in case of SC/ST/Cat-1.

Written Test:

  • The written test paper will contain 100 objective questions and each question will carry one mark.
  • The duration of written test is 2 hours.
  • ICAR/GOI nominees, Foreign Nationals, NRIs/NRI- sponsored are exempted from taking the written test.

Note: If your Master degree is not graded, the marks obtained by you in written test will be calculated for 100 marks.

Fill in the necessary details. Pay the prescribed Application fee as mentioned in the Admission notification on the website through a Demand Draft in favour of Comptroller, KVAFSU, Bidar

Reservation Criteria

  • Reservation of seats will be ensured as per the reservation policy of the Government of Karnataka.
  • A few seats are set apart for Foreign Nationals (FN) / Non - Resident Indians (NRIs) / NRI – sponsored candidates.
  • There is reservation of one seat per discipline in the Doctoral degree programme for candidates deputed by Government of Karnataka / Government of India.
