Eligibility Criteria

The minimum qualifications for admission to Ph.D. programme shall be Master’s level degree (M.F.Sc.) in respective / related* discipline and B.F.Sc. (4 year degree programme).
The minimum requirement for admission to Ph.D. programme shall be a minimum OCPA of 7.00 (out of 10.00) or 70% marks or equivalent at Master’s level and with a minimum OCPA of 5.50 (out of 10.00) or 55% marks or an OGPA of 2.00/4.00 or equivalent at Bachelor’s level.

Course Details

GADVASU offers admission to PhD programs to eligible candidates who are interested in the course. The details such as eligibility and selection criteria have been mentioned below:

	Animal Biotechnology	Master’s degree in Animal Biotechnology/ Veterinary Biotechnology/ Biotechnology/ Any branch in Veterinary Science/Fisheries/ Life Sciences. They should have done B.V.Sc. & A.H. or B.Sc. (Biotechnology/ Medical) or B.Sc. (Hons.) Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Microbiology & Molecular Genetics/B.F.Sc. or equivalent degree and a minimum OCPA of 7.00 (out of 10.00) or 70% marks or equivalent at the Master’s level. They should have a minimum OCPA of 5.50 (out of 10.00) or 55% marks or an OGPA of 2.00/ 4.00 or equivalent at Bachelor’s level
	Fisheries	Master’s degree (M.F.Sc.) in respective/ related* discipline and B.F.Sc. (4-year degree program) and a minimum OCPA of 7.00 (out of 10.00) or 70% marks or equivalent at the Master’s level. They should have a minimum OCPA of 5.50 (out of 10.00) or 55% marks or an OGPA of 2.00/ 4.00 or equivalent at Bachelor’s level
	Dairy Science and Technology	M.Tech. in respective/related* disciplines (Dairy Technology/M.Sc. Food Science/M.Tech Food Tech.) or equivalent degree and a minimum OCPA of 7.00 (out of 10.00) or 70% marks or equivalent at Master’s level. They should have a minimum OCPA of 5.50 (out of 10.00) or 55% marks or an OGPA of 2.00/4.00 or equivalent at Bachelor’s level

PhD Admissions to Inservice Candidates

Similarly, the minimum requirement for admission to PhD program for an in-service candidate in any of the constituent college of GADVASU is candidate must be an employee of a University or National Institute or Punjab government or UT of Chandigarh or Central government, with a minimum of five years of professional Teaching / Research experience in the relevant field.

Candidates can seek admission for any of the M V Sc / M Sc / M Tech programs, on the basis of the qualifying degree they had in their graduation.
