Lingaya’s University offers a Ph.D. program in various specializations for a minimum duration of 3 years. The Ph.D. program is offered under 17 specializations. The minimum eligibility criteria for admission into the Ph.D. course is a master’s degree in the relevant degree. Admissions will be granted on the basis of an entrance exam followed by an interview and viva-voce.

Candidates seeking admission to the Ph.D. course offered at Lingaya’s University shall satisfy the following eligibility criteria.

• For admissions in Ph.D. Programs in Engineering / Technology or related disciplines: Must have a minimum of 60% marks or minimum grade equivalent to 60% marks in M.E / M. Tech in related/allied disciplines.
• For admissions in Ph.D. in Management, Pharmacy and Non-Engineering Disciplines: Must have a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent Grade in PG Degree in related /allied disciplines.

Lingaya’s University Ph.D. Admission Guidelines

Lingaya’s University provides admission to the candidates in its Ph.D. program through an entrance exam followed by a personal interview and Viva-voce.

• First selection of the candidates will be based on an entrance exam.
• Candidates who have qualified in UGC/ CSIR (JRF) Examination/ SLET/ GATE / M. Phil (As a Regular Candidate from UGC Recognized University for admission to non-engineering disciplines) are exempted from appearing in the Entrance exam conducted by the University. However, these candidates must appear for a personal interview.
• The candidates have to score a minimum of 50% in the written test to qualify for the interview.
• Selected candidates will be invited for a personal interview and viva-voce rounds.
• The interview will be conducted by an expert committee to access the candidate’s ability and suitability to pursue the research work.
• The merit list will be based on the candidate’s overall performance in the interview and entrance test.
• If selected, the candidate will be admitted to the Ph.D. program once the tuition fee is paid.

• Candidates have to apply online by visiting the Lingaya’s University official website @lingayasuniversity.edu.in.
• Fill in the application form with all the prescribed details.
• Upload the necessary documents as prescribed in the application form.
• The application procedure is completed on paying INR 1200 as the application fee.

Lingaya’s University Ph.D. Course Details

The university conducts the Ph.D. program under many disciplines. The vacancies in the program will be notified through advertisements on the university’s official website. Tabulated below are the details of the specializations offered at the varsity:

Course Duration

The Ph.D. course of the Lingaya’s University is provided for a minimum duration of 3 years divided into 6 semesters and maximum duration of 6 years divided into 12 semesters.

Prescribed Coursework

• The student admitted to the Ph.D. program has to complete the course work of 12 credits within two semesters with a minimum CGPA of 5.3.
• If required, the period can be extended for another year under special circumstances with the approval of the Honourable Vice-Chancellor.

Tabulated below are the details of the coursework of Lingaya’s University Ph.D. program:

Research proposal: The scholar needs to prepare a Research Proposal after close discussion with the Guide and the co-guide.

• The student has to get the approval of the university and the recommendation by the Research Progress Assessment Committee (RPAC) within a year.
• The research will be reviewed by RPAC once in six months and the progress shall be regularly reviewed by the Guide/Co-Guide, the dean/HOD of the respective School/Department, Pro-VC/VC.
• The scholar should have as many numbers of publications as possible in reputed journals and have at least two publications in a reputable indexed journal.

Thesis Submission: After completing the research work, the scholar should submit the synopsis and get the RPAC’s recommendation for thesis preparation.

• The scholar should prepare the thesis and submit the draft for acceptance by the department and RPAC.
• The final thesis is then submitted after the approval of RPAC and the department.
• The thesis will be examined by external examiners and a viva voice will be conducted. Based on the performance, the scholar will be provisionally admitted for the award of the Ph.D. degree. The degree will then be conferred in the following convocation of the university.
