Ph.D. (Environmental Engineering) From GU, Phagwara

• Person having passed Post Graduate Degree (Master Degree) Examination with at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of SC/ST) or equivalent Grade Point Average-GPA (As per the UGC Norm).
• A person having qualified GU Ph.D. Entrance Exam with a minimum 50 % score followed by an interview.
• The Entrance Exam and Interview carry 70% and 30% weight age respectively for the final selection.

The candidates fulfilling at least one of the following conditions will be exempted from Entrance

• Qualified in NET/SLET/GATE/RAT/JRF/SRF/examination of the apex bodies as CSIR/UGC/ICAR/ICMR and or DST-INSPIRE fellowship/ICCR or any equivalent test/exam.

Note:-Candidates entitled for exemption from the Entrance Examination shall submit the Application Form along with relevant supporting documents within the stipulated time period.

Selection of the candidate shall strictly be based on merit basis subject to fulfilment of eligibility criteria. Candidates are required to fill the prescribed application form and submit the same at the Admission Cell. Admission Cell will verify the eligibility and forward the form for further processing to the Registrar’s office.
Points to be noted:

• Fill in the Application Form only if you satisfy yourself about your eligibility for admission in the program.
• If you have appeared in a qualifying examination and the result thereof is awaited, you can apply provisionally to go through the admission process subject to fulfilment of the eligibility criteria.
• The Application Form has to be filled in your own handwriting in black ink and undertaking is to be signed by the applicant only.
• The instructions in the Application Form are self-explanatory. kindly adhere to them strictly.
• It is mandatory to provide your email address (clearly) as it will be used by the Admission Office for any communication.
• University / Board / Marks filled in the Application Form will be considered for all procedures related to the admission. Any discrepancy found during the original document verification will result in the cancellation of the admission.

Fellowships and Categories of Candidates :

• The Ph.D. program leading to the doctoral degree is a self-financed program. No students/candidates can claim fellowships/scholarships/funds for research work other than what they have qualified for via competitive examination at the national or international level.
• Research committee holds the rights to disburse any fellowships/scholarships to meritorious or exceptional candidates.
