Columbia!!!

It was the most prestigious school I was accepted into, and I really wanted to go to a smaller school in an urban setting. I looked into specific programs I was interested in and found one that fit my needs pretty closely, and I particularly liked the integrated bachelors and masters program offered.

Exams :

SAT I (1480): it was required by most of the schools I wanted to apply to and I knew a lot more about it than the ACT. I had more test prep materials for it as well. Any score above 1450 is competitive for selective schools. SAT II: math and a science subject test were required by most of the engineering programs I applied to so I had to.

Placement :

I don't know too much about job placement, but I know we have a really strong alumni network and it's super easy for students to reach out to alumni. I also know that engineering starting salaries are usually around $70k all the way up to $100k.

Internship :

There are so many resources to help students get internships, as well as certain clubs, have really strong connections to certain companies. I don't know much about campus jobs, but I know they exist and are a part of the work-study program.

Fees :

Tuition fee is around $80k a year and for me, around 80% of it is covered by financial aid. I also qualify for work study, which covers about 25% of what I have to pay. Financial aid is available for international students, however, their admittance isn't need-blind like national students. There are also many outside scholarships that are available to international students.

Faculty :

I think the faculty are all incredibly knowledgeable on their subjects, and many of them are active researchers or have really extensive experience in the industry, which I really like because they share that experience as a part of the class.

Hostel :

Students live on campus for all 4 years and a meal plan is required the 1st year and available for the years after. Campus housing varies but for the most part, is actually quite nice. There are a few students who choose to live off-campus, but they're the extreme minority.
