Western Australia has Set up $16 Million to Support International Education.

The state government of Western Australia has set aside more than AUD 16 million to promote the state's foreign education industry. Due to the Omicron variation, the cash was granted after the delayed closure of its borders. The programme will get a AUD 8 million increase to help overseas students pay for quarantine-related fees, while the AUD 6 million Industry Support Program will help small and medium-sized education firms affected by international border closures. Western Australian institutions will get an extra AUD 500 to help overseas students affected by the temporary visa restrictions.

The state's foreign education industry has been impacted by the amendments, which took effect on February 5, 2022. An Australian organization has been collaborating with the state's police and government to assist kids in navigating the uncertainties. The decision to postpone the border opening, according to certain Western Australian educational institutions, would result in more job losses and income losses. The company's personnel have been supporting the kids around the clock. They've also given them access to free counseling. By the year 2030, The firm is also working with the Australian Hotels Association to give special accommodation discounts for the impacted students, according to a company representative.

The government's assistance package is part of a larger effort to promote Western Australia's travel and tourism industries. The organization's CEO, Emily Colyer-Long, stated that the corporation is working with the state government to guarantee that overseas students' safety and wellbeing are emphasized. The state's foreign education industry has taken a blow as a result of the reforms. This investment is part of a AUD 77 million industry support package called the Safe Transition Industry Support Package.
