My thoughts on University of Technology

UTS ranks among the top universities along with its great infrastructure and top-notch professors. Such a scholarship of 25% fee waiver at such a reputed institution insisted I accept the admission letter. While other factors like a part-time job working hours and future job perspective inspired me to join the course.

Course Curriculum :

To be honest, I learned far more about industrial management than technicalities as Australia is based on logistics and management. We have to complete 1 industrial training and 1 project to fulfill the degree criteria. The course syllabus is quite balanced between management and engineering, as both are important in such country.

Exams :

Admission with scholarship - IELTS - min 6.5 overall with 6 each and at least 75% in bachelor’s

Placement :

Opportunities are many if you hit the right spot and have the correct direction. You can do wonders if you build up great connections over here. If you build up connections over here you win. Students generally opt to get placed with the help of career hubs uts which help you from building your resume to getting placed in a company. Yes, opportunities are provided by the university if you grab them.

Internship :

I have opted for an internship, but I haven’t finalized the company to choose for the internship as they are in different cities and miles away.

Events :

Clubs , regular events, freebies and Open events are fabulous here at UTS. You interact with new people, try to understand their ideology and the process they went through to get a job. Regular cruise events, free gifts and loads of giveaways at the university site are common for us. Free university living in these uncertain COVID times definitely helped many students. Library with rent, loan or read online facilities are available over here. So yes there are many events and facilities that you could enjoy at UTS while drinking a coffee at the terrace cafe over here.

Fees :

To be honest it would cost a student $15000 per semester excepting travel and living expenses.

Scholarship :

Academic Excellence Scholarship with 25% fee waiver

Faculty :

According to my opinion, we have the best faculties we can approach with any of our doubts at any time. Faculty to student ratio would be approximately 1:40 depending on the subject and students enrolled. We have to book sessions for interaction with faculty, and so far they have been very helpful and very kind. 1) Ahmed Al Y Zubaydi - Professor - Material Handling

Hostel :

Well, it’s a 2bhk apartment in Pyrmont located in Sydney CBD. We have all the facilities over here ranging from lift access to the washing machine, wifi, dryer, and 24-7 hot water availability. For this apartment, I pay 275 dollars per two weeks.
