University of Ottawa program review

TS
8.5 /10

Ottawa is the capital city and where Parliament is, though it was a good idea to study politics and make connections in the heart of where it all happens. Also a good chance to learn French in a bilingual city

Course Curriculum :

For my specific program, I like that the course structure is relatively more open as you go into your upper years. I have a wide variety of courses to choose from which usually has multiple class timings.

Fees :

The fees were pretty standard. For a political science student, around $3,000 CAD per semester. You can see a full breakdown of the fees online on your student account.

Examination Structure :

The exam structure is pretty standard compared to other schools. Midterms and papers during the semester, final exams during exam season. I wish the school released its exam schedule earlier in advance so students can plan accordingly.

Faculty :

I have no complaints about the faculty. I wish they would get more involved with student clubs and organizations. The Faculty of Social Sciences professors aren't as involved with clubs such as the Telfer School of Management (business faculty).
