Review of my education

Mithil
6.5 /10

I had few friends who had taken admission one intake before in the same field so I got reviews from them. Secondly, I compare the cost of living in Brampton compared to colleges in Toronto and Thirdly, I checked for part-time jobs nearby. I did not have a very strong 12th background (70%). I also rectify my mistake and scored 3.76 out of 4 GPA in college.

Course Curriculum :

If I am given chance to rate faculty I would rate 3 out of 5. There were few good professors but few of them were recently entered in teaching field. Some professors thought they had the knowledge they were not able to deliver it. Moreover, the college put some new courses for a test run that were not accredited.

Exams :

The mechanical field is always a passion for me. I took consideration of my strong suites which I was good at. I also checked for what type of jobs and how much salary I can get after graduation. I did not have any credit. For admission, they took consideration of physics, chemistry, maths and English high school grades. I had given the IELTS exam to get admission and got 6.5 bands overall.

Placement :

I did not co-op course but I heard my colleagues that it was also hard to get job co-op as were few companies visit for an interview especially in the mechanical field. I manage to start my fieldwork by doing some start-up labor jobs which has minimum mechanical work and they eventually ended up doing field jobs.

Internship :

Yes, they do provide but its harder to get one. I tried to get but never got chance work on campus . I have worked off-campus with minimum wage for 10 hours a week sometimes 20 hours. There were few people who worked voluntarily on campus and later on they got stipend but it's very rare.

Fees :

Very few scholarships were available for international students and the fees for 2 years course were around 34,000 dollars which is the fee of the university for 4 years for a domestic student. In short, the fees were doubled. I manage to get a loan from a back home bank in order to pay fees. For scholarships, you can always search their website.

Hostel :

I took off-campus residence since it was way cheaper than college residence. I used to share the master bedroom with 2 more students in order to bring down the cost . I had part-time work for 10-20 hours week which helped me to take of living costs. I am purely vegetarian so it was very hard to find veggie food but eventually, I learned to cook which helped to survive those days.
