I am a Physiotherapist from India and wanted to pursue fitness as well as physiotherapy in Canada. I learned about my course through online research and applied for it. The admission process was fairly simple, with submitting transcripts, SOP, IELTS, and resume. I chose Georgian college as it was well known for the course and it also ranks number 1 for co-op studies. I am enjoying my course a lot and also get to learn through it.

Exams :

To pursue Physiotherapy in Canada, I needed a background in fitness so that it was easier for me to continue physiotherapy after this diploma. My batch size is 75. There is no eligibility for fitness and health promotion. It requires an IELTS score of 6.5, although it's best if you get 7 and above.

Placement :

Georgian College is known to have the best employment rate from all the colleges in Ontario. Many companies are owned by the alumni that provide job opportunities for new graduates. Since Georgian college is the only community college in Barrie, there are many job opportunities in the city and people help each other out a lot.

Internship :

Most of the programs in this college have some form of work experience or a co-op required. There are on-campus internships, volunteering, as well as on-campus job opportunities. The college posts job and internship opportunities on bulletin boards throughout the college. The on-campus job gives a wage of 15 per hour. For volunteering, one has to be proactive and should want to be involved in activities.

Fees :

The fee structure is about 8000 CAD per semester. In Georgian college, scholarships are awarded for multiple reasons. It may include academic excellence, varsity, and involvement in the community. There are opportunities to get scholarships for international students that should be grabbed by all. There is more than 10,000 CAD per semester for scholarships.

Faculty :

The faculty of my college is impressive. Every professor has an extensive background in teaching and working in the fitness industry. All of them have a master's degree or more. The college allows mentors to help you through the course which is great for international students.
