Simon Fraser University - [SFU], Burnaby, British Columbia - Accommodation

Hostel:

I am currently residing on campus housing. And they are having Sfu residence also, but its little expensive. If we talk about the off campus housing, there are numerous. And SFU also post some of the housing availability in their portal. If you are staying in the SFU residance, we can pick the option of with/ without meal.

Simon Fraser is one of the CEPH accrediation certified course. As a dentist I have prepared for the statistics course seperately and I scored A + grade in that. And for the english proficiency test, I wrote IELTS exam and secured 7.5/9. Afterthat, I converted my score with the wes canada for the evaluation and I secured 3.86 gpa. For getting the admission, we need strong Sop, LOR, Wes score, Statistics course and relevant experience in the population health.

Hostel:

Off-campus, sharing with one fellow student. Paying 670 CAD for the entire room and common amenities. Considering Vancouver is expensive, the average accommodation costs around 500-700 CAD per month.

For it's highly intensive CS research program and community-centered campus.

Hostel:

I used to live on campus. Campus housing has single rooms and townhouses (for 4 people). The cost of each room is approximately $3000 per semester. The rooms are small but they are private rooms which definitely helps! Everyone on campus is extremely friendly and I would definitely recommend living on campus during your first year. I met almost all my friends through Residence and during the events held on the residence. There is a common dining hall that operates 24/7 for students who choose to take the meal plan. The meal plan costs approximately $2000 per semester. For those who do not want to take the meal plan, there are separate buildings that have kitchen units on each floor for you to cook. I now live in off-campus. The rent for an off-campus basement suite is usually anywhere between $600-1000 per person. This increases based on utilities, amenities, location, building type, etc.

I wanted to go to a university in Canada as I believe that there are more opportunities for students, especially international students, to succeed in Canada. I chose SFU because they have a really great business program focused on the concentrations I wanted to pursue. It is a very well-known university in Canada and is still affordable! While it might not be known internationally, in the networking events or interviews that I have been to here, many employers have great things to say about the university. Additionally, I received a scholarship which was probably the deal breaker that made me choose SFU over any other university!

It was close to my home and I didn't want to be in debt by the time college ended. I didn't feel I was ready to move out and be on my own. My school also has one of the top Health Sciences programs in the country.

The reason why I chose to go to this college is that it is close to the place I live and since it is a decent place to study. I also received a scholarship that influenced my choice. No other choices were influencing.

Hostel:

I live with 2 other people off-campus and I think this way it's cheaper than the residence at SFU. Also, I cook food for myself and it helps save other expenses. Also, it's not far from university so it's convenient.

Recommended by high school advisor considering my grades and history. Also because of the involvement on campus is a really important part of SFU and I like to get involved in different volunteer opportunities.

I am not aware of the college accomodation facilities. Generally, stay outside and share room with other fellow students. Average rentals around 800 CAD per month.

Course content, course fees, location, co-op opportunities. The program helps to get a good indepth idea of data engineering and data science and enables students to learn and build industry relevant projects in these areas.
