Hostel:
I opted for off-campus accommodation because it was a bit cheaper and gave me more freedom. Kamloops is now notoriously famous for being a difficult place to find a place to stay. You might want to book your stay before you arrive in Kamloops rather than being there and finding a place to live. A lot of my friends lived in a poorly managed motel, which honestly, isn't very desirable.
I contacted CareerBrick in Delhi, and they helped me with the admission process. Gave IELTS after studying for 3-4 days from an online platform called Magoosh. The admission process was relatively easy. Got the confirmation from the university in a couple of months, and that's it. Also, I gave my GMAT too, although it isn't a prerequisite for admission at the university.
Hostel:
Off-campus accommodation is the best. TRU has some accommodation on-campus but it is good for nothing from what my friends said. They make you sign for a 1-year contract and then once you're here you cannot move out of the on-campus residence for a year. Also, you will have to pay extra for meals. It's much better for off-campus residence available at cheaper rates with much more facilities.
I applied with my engineering transcript and IELTS scores for admission with help of an agent from India. It took six months to know a decision from the university's side. I selected this institution because being an engineer this is the only institution that takes non-business graduates for higher studies in programs such as post-baccalaureate diplomas.
Hostel:
The accommodation is comfortable and the people are helpful.
The course and papers made sense for what I wanted to pursue: Affordable course.
Hostel:
You can stay off or on campus. Off would be cheaper and there are shared rooms too.
TRU provides options to work on and off campus. They also have a co-op program where we can gain career related work experience before graduating
Hostel:
I live in a townhouse with 3 other people. I chose to live off campus because it is cheap and gets more resources. I live near the university and my rent is 400 CAD for the personal room.
TRU is one of the best experiences anyone can get. For an average student like me, you get more than average rating University which has a good campus and can explore a lot of things in the University from joining clubs to being part of all the activities. One of the other reasons is diversity which is difficult to find in many colleges in Canada but fortunately, TRU will give that opportunity, especially in non-business courses.
Hostel:
First few months I lived with a family. It's called a homestay program. At TRU it costs 825$, including internet, water, electricity, food, laundry. the advantage of this is that families can take you somewhere with them as well as you're counted as a part of the family. Later I stayed in 2 different university residences. I think McGill Housing is a little overpriced. You need to pay almost 700$ for a small room with a lot of stuff inside. Every 4 dorms have a common bathroom but all of them have their own door outside.
I came from Ukraine so the price is a good reason to choose TRU. It is cheaper than most Canadian major universities but still, it offers a lot of programs and activities. That fact that I had really good grades in school helps me still in studying and I did not have any problems with getting in a course.
