Placement:

I still am studying in my third year so I don't know much about the placements. But I do know that other than the co-op course that you have to register for, the companies do not visit the university for placements. It's you who will have to approach and look for the companies you want to work under. And then send them your resume and application. You can however get references from the university, from your professors, or TAs. But do not rely on the university to help you completely in finding a job after you graduate.

Internship:

I haven’t applied for one yet.

Placement:

All the students working on campus in the office are international students, they are given preference over local students, this is good because it's harder for international students to get jobs. They do also provide training for job benefits i.e. How to make a successful resume and interview tips and tricks which is very helpful.

Internship:

Yes, it does but I just started so I don't have a job yet, but the minimum wage is 14$ an hour and international students get preference for jobs on campus also they do a lot of extracurricular activities and have fabulous volunteering opportunities.

Placement:

Most internship opportunities are unpaid which is sad. The ones that are paid are highly competitive with a lot of screening and shortlisting stages before a student receives an offer. This takes up a lot of time and delays decision making.

Internship:

Yes, the program has a co-op component that we have to complete but it is outside campus with different companies that we have to apply to and interview ourselves. The university helps with writing CVs.

Internship:

My college provides internships but I haven't taken any yet but I'm planning on taken one during my next semester at Trent. I am currently in my 2nd year at Trent so At the moment I'm not allowed to do internships yet.

When I was deciding on my University choice I took a lot of factors into perspective. I have always been one to like small towns and drama-less places and Peterborough ON offered me both. Trent University is known for its beautiful environment and scenery and was very important in my decision.

The main reason I chose Trent is that they offered me a scholarship for free tuition. At the time I applied for post-secondary schools I believed I wanted to be far away from home. When it came time to choose though, this ended up being the closest school I had applied to and that was one of the reasons I chose it.

Internship:

No, the college does not provide an internship in the department that I am in. We have a certain credit that we must undertake to complete the program however, overall the program does not have one.

I got into the program. It was a super competitive program and the school had small class sizes and a small division. The campus was set up in this town that was considered more environmentally friendly.

Placement:

Very few you basically have to choose your own path and figure a way out. The placement option in forensic science is just one placement course and I personally feel despite my high grades and resume I could not get it. It’s competitive and very less international students get selected. Finding your own internship outside of the university is a better idea rather than hoping to get selected in one single course.

Internship:

No, I haven't applied for internships.

The university doesn't provide in-campus job placement but it prepares you for the corporate world ahead.

One of the alumni got the placement with 70000$ per year package and that can be considered as the average package.
