Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] {Lateral} (Mechanical Engineering) From CEC, Mohali

Aspirants seeking admission to 3 year Full-time Program should have a Diploma in any Technology in any branch from any Institution of Punjab/another state with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (for SC/ST 40%) or equivalent grades and has been approved by AICTE.

To be eligible for admission to B.Tech. program, the candidates must possess the following qualifications-

• Passed higher secondary exam with Mathematics & Physics as compulsory subjects and minimum 45% marks (relaxation of 5% for SC/ ST candidates) 
• Or Diploma in any Engineering trade or Passed 2-year certificate course from Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology (SLIET).

Chandigarh Engineering College B.Tech. Selection Criteria

1. The applicants will be selected through a candidate’s rank in JEE Mains and the Aptitude test conducted by CBSE.
2. The counseling for the admissions will be done online.
3. 85% of seats will be reserved for the students of Punjab and 15% for the students outside the state.
4. The seats for B.Tech are also filled through the PTU Common Entrance Test (CET).
5. The exam consists of 4 sections in which the first three sections are designed to check the candidate’s aptitude in the core subjects.
6. The 4th section is designed to check the proficiency in the local language- Punjabi.
7. The paper consists of both objective and subjective questions
