Likes

  • I have chosen this course at this college because I can pursue both the core side and the IT side based on my interest, and SSN is one of the best colleges that offers the highest placements in Chennai.
  • The college will provide you with funds if your project is innovative, and we have many mentors to guide the project and conduct research in the field of our choice.
  • In SSN College of Engineering, there are a lot of placement and job opportunities, and my college provides internships within our own college.
  • A number of scholarships are offered to deserving students, including walk-in walk-out scholarships, almunia scholarships, moma scholarships, and sports scholarships.
  • SSN has the best sports teams in the state when it comes to engineering colleges.
  • The quality of all the available facilities at SSNCE is admirable, and I was really happy with the experience I had there.
  • SSN College is a very good college with excellent staff, abundant facilities, merit-based admissions, and a pleasant atmosphere.

Dislike

  • There was no internship offered at that time, so we voluntarily went to a few companies and did small works, but didnt get any stipend for that.
  • If there is a positive response, I have to give it to the entire staff and labs. However, when it comes to negative feedback, the college management was very poor and the worst when it came to collecting fees and granting condonation.

Placement Experience:

From the 6th-semester placement starts in SSN. The company the visits mechanical department are caterpillar, TVs, dove chemical, Amazon, etc... The highest package is around 18 lakhs-20 lakhs per annum and the average package is between 6 lakh-8 lakh. The Percentage of students getting placements is around 96% and the rest takes higher education. I plan is to continue my ME in aerospace engineering.

Remarks:

I didn't take any entrance exams. I got admission via tnea(Tamilnadu engineering admission). They do have a management seat for which you have to undergo an entrance examination and an interview process. The details about the process of admission are available on SSN official website. They do have a reservation for 25 rural students who studied in a government school and also for another category.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is credited based and the syllabus is not so vast. For each subject, you will have a maximum of 5 chapters which should be completed by the prescribed hours. Faculties are outstanding and well-versed in their field. They have superb knowledge about the subject. Most of the faculties here are friendly and lenient and most of them are Ph.D. holders.

Remarks:

For management quota, there is an entrance examination and for government quota, it is through cut off. I joined through government quota under tnea. Here reservation for each community is offered. The minimum cut-off is 190 for this college for the lowest-ranked course. Application fees will be around 5000rs.
