Silver Jubilee Government Degree College Kurnool is a NAAC ‘A’ accredited college located in Kurnool, state of Andhra Pradesh. This autonomous institution which emerged on the glorious eve of Silver Jubilee Celebrations of Indian Independence in 1972. It is a state level residential college, set-up by the erstwhile Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, the late Shri P.V. Narasimha Rao.

Silver Jubilee Government Degree College offers graduate degree courses in Humanities, Science, and Commerce. It also offers postgraduate programmes in Telugu, English, Physics, Commerce, and Economics.

Admissions to the various undergraduate courses available at Silver Jubilee Government Degree College are entrance based and only male candidates are admitted to the college.

Candidates must score a minimum of 64/160 marks in aggregate in order to qualify for admission to the undergraduate courses.
Candidates who clear SET are called for counseling at the institution during which document verification is done and courses are allotted. Courses are allotted according to the student’s academic record, SET score and seat availability.

SJG Degree College offers 3-year undergraduate programs in Arts, Science, and Commerce. Candidates must clear 10+2 board examinations in the stream applied for (Arts/Commerce/Science) in order to be eligible for appearing in SET, the institute level entrance test. Those applying for B. Sc Pure Science courses must have Maths, Physics, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects at the 10+2 level. Candidates applying for B. Sc Life Science courses must have Biology, Physics, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects.

Candidates who meet the basic eligibility criteria must appear for SET or the Silver Entrance Test to gain admission in the course of their choice. Applications are invited via advertisements in leading English and Telugu dailies of Andhra Pradesh. Candidates are tested on their knowledge of the English language and 3 subjects of Arts/Science/Commerce stream, depending on the subject choice of the applicant.
