What students say about Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College - [JNEC]

Likes

  • The course structure is basically good. We have four lectures and two practicals, which improve our knowledge as we understand how they are done.
  • The Institute provides an internship programme for students in which every student takes part with great willpower.
  • As per job opportunities, there are tremendous opportunities for computer science and information technology students. Additionally, placements for electrical engineering and mechanical engineering are also good.
  • There was one of our seniors who received a good scholarship from our college, as he was one of the toppers in his class.
  • As I already said, the college campus was very beautiful and there were a large number of students in each class, approximately 60-70 students per batch.
  • Well, I am a localite student and I have a home in Aurangabad. However, according to what I have heard from my friends who live in hostels, they have had a neutral and positive experience regarding the hostels and the food as well.
  • We can experience that just by looking at the college campus and experienced faculty members.

Dislike

  • There are no internship opportunities. Your final year project may get sponsored, but there are no good internships for IT. Persistant used to visit and sponsor the project and guide you.
  • There are multiple scholarships offered by the college that help the poor.
  • I had never shared any college hostel rooms as the 2 BHK flats were a little less expensive than the college hostel

Placement Experience:

Once students get cleared for the 5th semester they are eligible for placements. Many companies like Capgemini, TCS, Jio, and others visited and had a bunch of students with their offer letter placements starting from 2 to 12 lacs were offered. As per information, around 85% of eligible students were placed. I'm planning for GATE or CAT after my degree.

Remarks:

The admission process is quite simple being a private university they manage its own CET called MGMU-CET (1500Rs available on the college site also one can visit the faculty in charge in college and request for the same) so after the test, the results are displayed but admission is on the basis of the non-zero score even if any student has appeared in any other MHT-CET or IIT-JEE they are eligible based on the marks in the respective tests. There is no reservation or concession of any. No student is provided with any caste or income-based reservation which is one of the worst scenarios in case the needy student also has to pay the full fee which is quite expensive in the city. Admission faculties are quite supportive.

Placement Experience:

In the final year, the students are eligible to apply for the campus drive. Dassault systems, Wipro, tata power, tata technologies, Atlas Copco cognizant, etc are the companies that visit and about 50 offers were made. Virtusa offered 9 lahks and Dassault systems offered 7.5lakh. 40% of students getting placed. I want to do a job.

Remarks:

The eligibility, of course, is to apply after qualifying for any entrance like CET and JEE or after passing any diploma course. Then you are eligible for that undergraduate course. The application form has to fill in at any college or online mode at home also. It is compulsory to fill out the option form for the admission process. I belong to the OBC category so half of the fees are cut as I fill the scholarship form i.e post matric government scholarship. I want the process of admission to be held only in college other than online mode. So the chances of errors in the form are minimised.
