Campus Life:

Annual sports day is organized at the college premises. Frequently, a career conclave is also organized for students where the members of the SSC Examination Board or other examination boards come for career counseling. There are two libraries in the college- one departmental library and one common library for all. Most of the books are readily available and easy to access and get issued. The practical classroom (for the journalism department) lacks facilities. The studio is not proper. However, the faculty continuously tries to get the practical equipment repaired and working.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My interest in the subject made me choose B.A. Journalism and Mass Communication (Hons). There were 15 students in my batch and there are 3 teachers. One among them is the HOD. The teaching style is satisfactory. Some teachers teach really well and provide timely notes. Although, the practical classes were not regular during my tenure ( mostly due to covid lockdown). The exams are conducted as per the schedule of Calcutta University and it is easy to pass with normal preparation.

Course Curriculum Overview:

For every course, there are two semesters held every year. The exams are conducted by the college itself but the question and pattern are followed by the University of Calcutta as the college is affiliated with this university. The faculty is also really educated here.

Campus Life:

There are groups of political parties on-campus students can participate in those but no one is forced to do so. Every department has its own groups that carry their own performance. There is no website run by the students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I wanted to be a journalist and it was my long-time passion which I incorporated not only through my work but from my studies as well. Back in 2016, there were not enough colleges offering courses in Journalism. I went to the college physically, collected the form, entered all the necessary details, and applied.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

The B.A. course in Journalism and Mass Communication at Rani Birla Girls' College is a self-financed course, which means, the candidate has to bear the whole amount of the course, and there will be no provision given by the government.
