Ques. For CS, which is better: Thadomal College or Vivekananda College in Chembur?

● Top Answer By Girish Singh on 01 Nov 21

Ans. A subject like CS is good enough for your career to shine, be it from any college. It completely depends on the student and what suits his/her requirements. The faculty of both the colleges are equally good. They are highly experienced and very cooperative. If you prefer a more lively college life, consisting of fun and fests then opt for Thadomal Shahani Engineering College (TSEC) If the campus environment, infrastructure, and food joints matter more to you then go for Vivekanand Education Society’s Institute of Technology (VESIT) Chembur. Ques. What should I choose, a dual degree MSc program in BITS Hyderabad or some branch in NIT Raipur, or CSE in NIT Puducherry?

● Top Answer By Sakshi Gupta on 25 Oct 21

Ans. Choose BITS Hyderabad over NIT Raipur or NIT Puducherry. Here are some of the reasons for choosing this institute: They offer a beautiful campus with an enthusiastic student crowd. BITS Hyderabad has updated modern machinery and lab facilities. The placements definitely differ between the BITS and NITs. NIT Raipur is very old-fashioned in its approach towards studying and learning. Their faculties teaching method is old and prefers their students mugging up notes rather than learning and understanding something. BITS, unlike NIT Raipur, their teaching method is industry-oriented. You might think that going for a dual degree is better as IT companies only prefer CSE graduates. But nowadays this notion has changed as with big data and analytics creating a boom, more and more such companies visiting campuses and hiring people from all branches. Therefore it is suggested that you go for BITS Hyderabad, where you will grow and learn in a much more competitive environment. Your vision will be broadened.Read more

Ques. How is the B.Tech CSE program placements in REVA University?

● Top Answer By Yashmeet Grover on 22 Oct 21

Ans. I have a few friends from REVA University. According to their experience, it is a decent option if you are interested in doing a B.Tech CSE program. The placement record for the university is quite average. In recent years, the average CTC offered in the placement drive was around 4.5-5.5 LPA. REVA University does offer decent exposure in terms of technical certifications, national and international conferences.  The faculties and teaching staff of the institute are good.   REVA University can be a valid choice if you are considering doing a B.Tech in CSE. Read more

Campus Life :

We have an annual technical fest called Quartz in March. Then we also have a cultural fest called Waves in October. Besides this we have an intra college fest called Quartz in February. Books & journals are in plenty in the library Classroom has TV & projector along with large size white board for faculty to write. The furniture is new & there is proper cleaning of classrooms every day. We have SAC - sports activity centre. It offers more than 10+ games including basketball ground, professional level cricket ground, professional level indoor badminton & table tennis court. There is long tennis as well and wide range of indoor games available. There is also a gym. Besides sports there are many official & unofficial technical & non-technical clubs in the college. Recruiting members of these clubs are open & frequently keep hiring students on campus every semester. There is intranet on campus called DC. All communications happen via. DC in campus.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I choose this course because i wanted to build career in computer science and built software products. 1:50 ratio of faculty to students (based on the avg students enrolled in one class) Faculty are highly knowledgeable and keep shifting internally from all 3 campus under the university. They have rich experience in teaching and always there to support students for any help in their career. Faculty uses online CRM for managing courses and provide well detailed & structured classes. Exams were thrice in each semester. Each year had two semesters. The exams were into three parts T1, T2 & Comprehensive examination. Exams were quite difficult to crack & highly competitive because it was cumulative based. You're required to attend classes with focus to be at par with other students.

Internships Opportunities :

There are two programmes - Practice School - 1: 2 Months (Second year summer vacation) Practice School - 2: Whole semester in the 4 year There is also an option to swap Practice School - 2 with thesis on campus, who are looking to publish paper or do research under professors. These program have many listed companies offering internships as part of the curriculum. Students are graded based on their performance during these programs. They are allocated companies based on cutoff list & grades. Companies are located across India & have tie up with BITS Pilani from past many years Projects during the internship depends on the type of company & potential seen in student by the company. If students are willing, they can learn a lot given this opportunity.

Admission :

The admission is through BITSAT which is exam conducted by bits every year to take in students They take in students through the exam by merit There is no reservation in this exam. The paper is of 3 hours and consisted of maths physics chemistry English and mathematical reasoning. The marking scheme is+4-1 so there is very less scope of guessing the answer. The exam is of jee main level just you need to be fast, pretty fast. There are even bonus questions if you completed all the questions before the time frame. They are 15 question in all covering all the section.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is fantastic in bits students from all stream study the same courses in the first year and they are courses from all stream. Eee physics chemistry thermodynamics computer engineering graphics chem lab physics lab computer lab biology lab biology lecture. Linear algebra matrices complex numbers prob stats. The things are taught nicely and the video are recoreded so that students can refer it later. The overall curriculum believes in the deliveries of promising student, in overall development of student.

Campus Life :

Gender ratio is 10 boys is to 1 girl But so is the case in every engineering college. There are many clubs and departments from acting to debating to robotics every club is there and students can be a part of all of them is they are interested. Overall development happens in this college

Faculty :

There are around 15 staffs when I did the course, their average age would be around 35, they are all pretty experienced. But the way of teaching could be more better when it comes to some of the teaching staffs (not all). Not all staffs hold industy experience, I think 2 of our staffs had industry- experience. Some were able to do their PHD's.

College Events :

Culturals. It is just internal, no outside college students can join or even participate, they just do it for name sake. But we guys enjoy in our own way, we do have that freedom to enjoy or celebrate on this particular day. Yhe briyani provided on this day is actually okay, but we all guys could sit on the grass and enjoy the food.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Course Curriculum and exam structure is affliated to Anna University. Its is definitely relevant to what we want to learn, but definitely not research-driven. Could have been more of application learning. Couldn't say that it was helpful in securing on-campus placements, it's upon the individuals on how they cope up.

College Events :

The college conducts 2 events every year. First one is the tech fest known as Phase Shift, and the second one is the college fest known as Utsav which is the best fest in Bangalore. The campus crowd is decent. I opted for this course because we can learn both the hardware and software related topics. The course can be improved by giving a lot of practical knowledge to students. Fests are common for the entire college. The surrounding of the campus are good and they help students for learning.

Faculty :

Almost 50% of the staff members are great, but the other 50% of them are not. They are willing to help but are tied by their traditional ways of teaching. They can use available technology even better. Web teachers can give great demos, which isn't happening. VTU syllabus is way too outdated, and at least 25% of subjects throughout the course are completely useless. The syllabus needs many updations. teachers are well experienced and well trained so that the students can understand easily.

Course Curriculum Overview :

It has a good placement record for the CSE department, and the placements are decent for other branches. The plus point is that more than 300 companies visit the campus every year for campus placements. Thus getting into a core company and doing what you love gets easier because of this college. The placement statistics for this year are not out yet. We are expecting that more than 50% of the students were placed from our department till now.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is as per the Mumbai University, as per there subjects and syllabus. The Exam Structure is Semester is Half-year per semester (6 Month). Each Semester is of 6 months. The Subject is newly included and are theory-oriented subjects such as Machine learning, Natural Language processing, etc. The subject is future-oriented so not so helpful for securing on-campus placements. No there weren't having any industrial visits organized for students.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

As i am in Computer Engineering the fee structure is same for all branch in our college. The fee for Computer Engineering is about 40k-45k for OBC and 85k to 90k for open. The Cash as well as DD is accepted in the college, student can also pay fees in partition is not possible to pay one time. The permission letter is to be written for such case.
