B.E. Instrumentation and Control Engineering: Eligibility

Candidate must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized state or central board with at least 65% (relaxable for reserved category candidates) of the marks with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English as the major subjects of study.

  • He/She shall not be having any Supplementary or Compartment in any of the subject/Subjects at 10+2 or equivalent level that is yet to be cleared at the time of taking admissions.
  • Apart from the above-mentioned eligibility criteria’s various colleges and institutes may have their own additional criteria’s which the students would have to satisfy in order to take admission.
  • In case of reserved category students, they would have to present their reservation certificates issued by the competent authorities in order to avail the benefits applicable to them.
  • Most of the Institute give admissions through Common Entrance Test (CET) (like JEE Main, UPSEE, WBJEE, OJEE etc). To get admissions in these institutes candidates would have to qualify the respective entrance exam by securing minimum qualifying marks.

Admissions to BE Instrumentation and Control Engineering involves a common entrance test based admission process (as seen across various Universities and colleges in the country) as well as a merit-based selection process (in select few institutes/colleges). 

  • Students who have passed their 10+2 or equivalent level examinations with a minimum of 65% marks (relaxable for reserved category students) can make application in colleges offering the course.

One of my friends recently graduated from NIT Trichy and he was able to give me some information regarding the ICE branch placement at the institute.  Based on the information that I gathered, I will say don’t go for ICE if your aim is placement. Most ICE students from NIT Trichy get placed in software companies, with a similar package as that of a tier-2 CS student.  The problem with the ICE branch is that you won’t get to learn anything in-depth. The core companies that visit the campus look for students with strong technical skills. Ans. I know a little bit about ISI Kolkata since I have a few friends from the institute. Here is what you should know about the internships between semesters.  The course curriculum specifies that in the summer after completing your first year of M.Tech, you have to do an internship either in the industry or academia. You will have 3 options.  Industry: Many companies that visit the Campus for placements of 2nd-year students also select interns for the same. Some of such companies are Samsung Research Labs, Google, General Electric, Reliance, Flipkart, De Shaw, JP Morgan Chase, etc. The average stipend offered last year was 65,000 rupees/month. Some companies offer more than 1 lakh/month. One of my friends interned at Samsung Research Labs. Academia: As per ISI guidelines, you need to pursue an internship at a different academic Institute or industry. A friend of mine went to NUS Singapore, while two others went to a university in Germany. You can also apply to other institutes in Japan, USA, and Europe. People also go to IITs, CMI, and other Tier-1 Institutes of India. Within ISI: If for some reason you could not get an internship in the above-mentioned ways, you can approach any of the 250+ faculty members across all 5 ISI‘s and can ask to work with them in their labs. You will have internships at the end of the first year. In the second year, you will have placements, dissertation, academics. So, the only time left to do an additional internship is the winter break after the first sem. Unless you are extremely enthusiastic, I will suggest that you take a break during this period. They have quality teachers, some better than in NIT Trichy.  Ranking: SSN is one of the premier institutes in Tamil Nadu and NIT Trichy is among the top-ranked NITs in the country. Extracurricular activities: SSN gives equal importance to academics and extra-curricular activities as well. They focus on overall development. In NIT Trichy, a lot of extracurricular activities are held. Fests are organized almost every week. They focus too much on extracurricular. Campus: SSN is lush green and has a scenic beauty. NIT Trichy has a rocky campus and does not have much greenery, although they do have a beautiful college avenue road. Placements: The placements of NIT Trichy are better than SSN, however, the Average CTC is almost the same. Here is the placement highlight of the year 2020. Faculty :

They were very knowledgeable many of them have completed PhD degree. They helps us to understand every topic very clearly and also help us in solving our doubts. They also support in our projects and regularly gives us assignments. Internal exams are also taken by them so it helps us to know at which level we are at and how much we have to improve.

College Events :

Fresher party firstly for new comming students for welcoming them then we are having techfest of our college in which many activities and performances were there than after comes sports week where everyone participate in it and then lastly farewell to seniors and in between whole year different different competition are also organised.

Campus Life :

Campus Life is awesome as college is having vast area generally gender ratio is 60:40 but it also depends in which branch u were studying. College is having many extracurricular activities like debate competition, Rangoli competition, quiz competition as well as sports week in which almost all sports competition is placed.

Yes,2nd year itself students are taking test through online for training and placement also they have special training from expects.tier 1 companies are Infosys.They fix basic criteria like above 7cgpa with no standing arrear.students who have good aptitude and basic knowledge in coding will be selected.tier 2 company like vuram,ivtl are the software companies they expect no history of arrear and above 8 cgpa.students who have well verbal knowledge and coding will placed in this company.core company like zentron,labView are coming to our campus.they expect to clear the clad exam.and students who have good knowledge in labView scilab MATLAB will be placed.they set the basic criteria is above 6.5cgpa with no standing wise so many companies are coming for our campus drive.

Campus Life :

40% girls 60%Boys. Everyone friendly with each other.No ragging to the juniors. Seniors and junior have good relationship bonding inside the campus as well as outside.We won't bother about caste, religion etc.inside campus we all have one thought we all are we come for studying purpose only.Politics influence are very less. Sara campus is good for studying new things with perfect guidance.we have more labs for research purpose also like Eyantra,NI research lab etc.And we have well equipped equipment in our college lab.

Faculty :

Every professor try to correlate the things to the current technology.every semester we have 6 subjects and 2 or 3 laboratory (it depends upon the semester). Each subject we have separate program outcome and course outcome.most probably every teacher hold ph.d and master degree and they publish more than 10 papers and also attending international conference they have industrial knowledge as well as teaching so they are gem for us.
