Oil Technology is a field of engineering aimed at researching, designing, developing, repairing, and evaluating precision machinery that can be used to locate, extract, process and refine natural gas and petroleum.

Ques. What happens if you fail in a subject in the final year of engineering at VTU?

Ans. If you fail in the 7th semester then you have a chance to clear it during your final semester exam. Since VTU conducts all semester subjects in each semester examination. If you fail in your final semester then you are not eligible for a degree. So you must wait till the next few months when semester exams for odd semesters begin and clear it. If you are coming into the final year, it means you can never fail as subjects are much easier.Read more

Ques. Does Jamia Millia Islamia provide hostel facilities to B.Tech students? How good are the hostels?

Ans. Yes, Jamia Millia Islamia provides hostel facilities to the students. One of my friends availed the hostel facilities, and according to him, it is quite good. The hostel strength for each stream is limited. For B.Tech students, there are about 120 seats. 3 students have to share a single room. You can have a room partner from different branches like diploma, BA, Turkish studies, etc. Each hostel is provided with a separate mess and gym. There are lush green lawns and all-night canteens in front of every hostel. The Hostel fee is INR 6000 and is to be paid in 3 installments and the mess fee is INR 2000 per month. There is a newly constructed masjid for Muslims to offer prayers near the Kellat hostel Mess food is good compared to other colleges. You will be given Biryani twice a week. Sweets, omelette, tea, chowmein, etc. are also provided.  There is a large sports ground for playing cricket, volleyball, etc. If you are unable to get a seat in the hostels, you can opt for nearby places for accommodation in areas like Jamia Nagar, Okhla, Subhash Nagar, and NFC. Ques. How can we benefit from completing a B.Tech in Acharya Nagarjuna University Guntur?

Ans. One of my friends studied at Acharya Nagarjuna University. He completed his B.Tech in ECE. According to him, the college overall was really good and benefited him in many ways. He mentions that like every other college it also has its fair share of pros and cons. Pros: Having a very supportive faculty who were highly experienced as well. The campus atmosphere was great, perfect for an educational institution. They encourage students to be good not only in academics but in extracurricular activities as well. Many sports fests, cultural fests are conducted. The lab facilities provided are really good, especially the ECE department. The entire campus and hostels are wifi enabled. Cons: Placements are not up to the mark. The hostel and mess food is not healthy and it becomes tough to get used to it. After completing B.Tech from Acharya Nagarjuna University, you will learn a lot about yourself and how to function in a professional environment. They may lack proper placement offers but they will build you up so you can face any interview and secure a job offer.Read more

Ques. Is kakatiya university good (for b.tech)?

Ans. I have a few friends who went to Kakatiya University. According to their opinion, it is not a good option for pursuing your B.Tech.  The faculty base is not good. There are no such lab facilities available. The mid-term exams are taken after the compilation of the semester examinations. In a semester, the first 4-5 months there will be almost no classes, and the syllabus is completed in the last 10 days or so. Kakatiya University will not help you learn and develop the skills you require to do well in your career. If you have other better options, go for them instead.Read more

Ques. Which is better for engineering MJPRU or AKTU?

Ans. Most of the students have favored AKTU for engineering rather than MJPRU. Here are some facts about it. If studying in Uttar Pradesh is your choice, go for AKTU. It is a technical university with faculty members from prestigious affiliated institutes like KNIT, IET, etc.  Whereas in other State Universities (MJPRU), there is a lack of dedicated engineering professors. It provides a Training & Placement Cell, student’s councils, clubs, technical and non-technical forums, coding classes, etc. These are lacking in MJPRU.  MJPRU is said to be better for other non-professional courses like BA, B.Sc., etc. but not for engineering. The environment is more appropriate for education in AKTU compared to MJPRU. In Lucknow, you will get nearby coaching centers for GATE, CAT, SSC, etc. for your higher studies. AKTU also is said to have a better student crowd, who maintain healthy competition among themselves. Many good companies have come for campus placement at AKTU for engineering students. Honestly, all the state engineering colleges of Uttar Pradesh State like CSJM Kanpur University, MJP Rohilkhand University, VPS Purvanchal University, RML Avadh University, etc. will prove to be a disappointment when compared to AKTU.Read more

Admission :

I have qualified entrance exam of MHTCET. Those marks are really very important for getting selected in the admission rounds. Also having appeared 12th boards exam, these marks and percentage matters lot for calculating agregate required fpr securing good position in the merit list. on the basis of merit list i have crossed the CAP rounds and in 1st round i was allotted with LIT.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I study oil technology. I have personal intrest in learning things about this. This technology is useful in our day to day life schedule. It helps us to learn new technologies that will lead to the devlopment and upgradation in human life. The exam is of semester pattern. Sessional exams are taken for giving internal marks in college.

College Events :

LITMUN, MERGE, ELITE, GFC are some of the grand events in college. They involve both cultural and academic activities in them. Also there are sports week, quiz competition, and other special days celebration in college. There are various clubs which held various events and activities, but not on very large platform.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The curriculum consists mainly of Oleochemical and surfactant engineering. The students are required to take the basic subjects of chemical engineering and one subject of Oil Technology. Each semester the one subject of Oil Technology includes topics like oil refining, Oleochemicals production, surfactants, cosmetics, paints etc.

Remarks :

LIT Nagpur being such an old college hasn't attained autonomy due to the university politics. Baised placement cell hinders the development of deserving students. The infrastructure is very poor. The only good thing that happens is that the graduated students come out independent with full knowledge of their field.

Placement Experience :

LIT offers 7 courses in the field of chemical technology and engineering however the placement cell is biased and cares only for the Chemical engineering department and other departments are severely neglected. Internships are not provided by the college, students are supposed to find it on their own.
