BLAT 2023 Registration is likely to being in the 1st week of June, 2023. Candidates who have scored a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in their qualifying exam, can register for BLAT 2023 Application Form till the 1st week of July, 2023.   • Applicants of the reserved category must have scored a minimum of 45% marks aggregate to be eligible for BLAT 2023 Exam.
  • BLAT 2023 Syllabus for LLB/BA LLB consists of 3 major sections, i.e. General Awareness and Current Affairs, Common Legal Knowledge, and Aptitude and Mental Ability. BLAT LLB paper will also include a section of English & Hindi language-related questions, and BLAT BA LLB paper will include a section on English Comprehension.
  • Applicants who have successfully registered for the exam can download BLAT 2023 Admit Card from the official website in the 
  • Previously, BLAT Exam was conducted separately, however, now it is conducted together, along with UET and PET.

What is BLAT? BLAT or BHU Law Entrance Test is a law entrance examination conducted by Banaras Hindu University for admission to law courses offered at the university. BHU conducts two different exams for undergraduate and postgraduate admission. For undergraduate admission, UET (Undergraduate Entrance Test) and for postgraduate admission, PET (Postgraduate Entrance Test).

  • As per BLAT 2023 Exam Pattern for PG courses, LLM exams will be conducted in computer-based exam mode with a duration of 120 minutes. Applicants will be asked a total of 120 multiple-choice questions carrying a total of 480 marks.
  • According to BLAT 2023 Exam Pattern for UG courses, LLB/BA LLB entrance exam will be conducted in computer-based exam mode with a total duration of 120 minutes, where applicants will be asked a total of 150 multiple-choice questions carrying a total of 600 marks. 
  • Applicants are awarded 3 marks for every correct answer. For every incorrect answer, 1 mark is deducted from the total marks. 

Applicants are selected based on their performance in the BLAT exam and their qualifying exam scores.

BLAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria for LLB (Hons.) Courses

For LLB Honours at BHU candidates should satisfy the following eligibility requirements;

  • Educational Qualification: Applicants who want to apply for the exam must have completed BA, B.Sc., B.Com, or any equivalent exam from a known university or institute.
  • Minimum marks: Applicants who want to apply for the entrance exam must have scored at least 50% marks in the qualifying exams.
  • Age Criteria: Applicants who are below the age of 30 years are eligible to apply for the exam.

BLAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria for  BA LLB (Hons.) Courses

For BA LLB Honours, the given eligibility requirements are mandatory for appearing and attending the examination.

  • Educational Qualification: HSC exams or any equivalent exam in any stream should be completed by the applicant.
  • Minimum Marks: Applicants who want to apply for the entrance exam must have scored at least 50% marks (45% marks for OBC category applicants and 40% marks for SC, ST category applicants) in the qualifying exams.
  • Age Criteria: Applicants who are of 20 years are eligible to apply for the exam.

Appearing Applicants: Applicants who are in process of the final exam of the HSC are also eligible to apply for the exam.

BLAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria for LLM Courses

Candidates applying for LLM, which is the master's level law course, should satisfy the following eligibility requirements.

  • Educational Qualification: Applicants who want to apply for the exam must hold a three-year or five-year LLB degree from a known university or college.
  • Minimum marks: Minimum of 50% marks should be obtained by the applicants who want to apply for the exam.
  • Age Criteria: There is no maximum age limit to apply for LLM.
