What is CUET Exam?

The Common University Entrance Test, or CUET, is an all-India exam administered by the Ministry of Education for students seeking admission to UG, PG, and Ph.D. programs. Numerous central, state and private universities accept students based on CUET 2023 Results. Thus, candidates only need to qualify for this one exam to participate in the admissions process at multiple universities. The test is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). CUET 2023 Scorecard can be used by 90 universities to prepare the merit list and for individual counseling.

CUET Eligibility

CUET 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Apart from CUET 2023 Eligibility Criteria, candidates are also required to fulfill the eligibility requirements laid down the universities for admission to desired courses/ degree program. Candidates can check the eligibility criteria from the official website, cuet.samarth.ac.in.

  • Age Limit: No age limit exists for CUET 2023. Candidates must however fulfill the criteria for respective universities. 
  • Qualifying Examinations: Passed Class 12th/ equivalent from a recognized board OR are appearing students
  • Year of Passing of Qualifying Exam: There is no set year of passing for CUET 2023; Candidates must fulfill the criteria laid down by respective universities.

NOTE: Candidates must note that a mere appearance in CUET exam or securing pass marks does not entitle a candidate to admission to the UG program/ degree unless he/she fulfills the course-wise eligibility laid down by the University. 

DU Admissions through CUET 2023

CUET 2023 is a must for UG admissions at the University of Delhi. As per the latest update, no interview will be conducted by St. Stephens or other DU colleges, admissions will be made solely based on CUET 2023 scores

CUET 2023 Exam Pattern

CUET 2023 is held online as a computer-based entrance test in 13 languages. As per the latest exam pattern, CUET 2023 question paper is based on objective-type questions (MCQs). Check CUET 2023 Question Paper Pattern

  • The paper is divided into four sections-
    • Section 1A: 13 languages, any of the languages can be chosen.
    • Section 1B: 20 languages, any of the languages can be chosen.
    • Section 2: 27 domain-specific subjects; any subject can be chosen depending on the university.
    • Section 3: General Test; applicable as per the course/ university requirements.
  • Candidates can choose 10 subjects out of the above-mentioned languages, domain-specific and general test depending on their choice of course and university.
  • The duration of CUET 2023 exam is going to be mentioned on the candidate’s admit card. 
    • Last year, 45 minutes were given to each language subject chosen,
    • 45 minutes for each domain-specific subject chosen, and 
    • 60 minutes for the General Test

Is there negative marking in CUET?

Yes, there is negative marking in CUET UG examination. CUET marking scheme provided by NTA states:

  • 5 marks are awarded for every correct answer or the most appropriate answer
  • 1 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer marked by the candidate
  • Marks are neither awarded nor deducted for a question left unattempted or marked for review
  • If all the options are found to be correct, then all candidates who have attempted the question will be awarded 5 marks
  • If more than one option is found correct, then only those candidates who have marked any of the correct options will be awarded 5 marks.

CUET 2023 Syllabus varies for each subject chosen by the candidate. CUET 2023 syllabus is based on Class 12th and is in line with the National Education Policy 2020. 

  • CUET Syllabus for General Test is based on General Knowledge, Mental Ability and Logical Reasoning.
  • CUET Syllabus for languages is based on literary aptitude and vocabulary.
  • CUET Syllabus for the domain-specific subjects is based on NCERT for Class 12th. However, candidates are tested on related topics even if not included in NCERT.

CUET 2023 Preparation Strategy

CUET 2023 is considered to be moderately challenging. This is because CUET a newly introduced entrance exam. With little preparation and study material available, preparing for CUET might be tricky. Students can follow a few suggestions and CUET 2023 preparation tips mentioned below.

  • Be clear with CUET exam pattern and syllabus. Since candidates can choose the subjects to attempt in the exam, it is advised that the candidate become familiar with the detailed exam pattern, the number of questions asked, questions to be answered and the marking scheme. The syllabus for CUET 2023 is also equally important. This will help you stick to the most important topics in the exam.

CUET 2023 Mock Test

CUET Mock Test is released by NTA on its official website- nta.ac.in. The mock test is to familiarize the candidates with the actual exam pattern and the CBT format. To access CUET UG Mock Test, you need to click on the mock test link available on the official website. By taking the official CUET mock test, you will get acquainted with the navigation system and the use of virtual calculators.

It is extremely important to analyze your mock tests to know your mistakes and work on them. Mock Test analysis is a must to get the maximum benefit of attempting the paper in first place.


CUET 2023 Exam Centers

CUET 2023 exam center is disclosed to the candidates only after the admit cards have been released. Before that, candidates are only intimated on the exam city where their exam center is located. Candidates can choose 2 exam cities of their choice which will be limited to the State of Permanent Address or State of Present Address only. 

  • NTA is going to conduct CUET 2023 in 387 exam cities in India and 24 cities outside India. 
  • For smooth conduct of the exam, NTA is going to allot CUET 2023 exam center within 100 km radius of the Permanent or Correspondence Address.
  • Candidates will be informed about their CUET 2023 exam center 10-12 days in advance.

CUET 2023 Examination City Slip

CUET 2023 advance exam city slip is going to be released on April 30, 2023 The Advanced Examination City Intimation Slip for CUET 2023 is a security feature by NTA. The city intimation slip is an advance intimation of the city where the exam center is located for the candidate. This city intimation slip is not the admit card and candidates must download their admit card separately. Candidates can download CUET 2023 Examination City Intimation Slip using their application number and DOB on the official website- cuet.samarth.ac.in.

CUET 2023 Admit Card is going to be available for download on the official website, cuet.samarth.ac.in, in the second week of May 2023. Candidates can download their CUET 2023 admit card using their application ID and DOB.

CUET 2023 admit card link is activated on the official website cuet.samarth.ac.in. Candidates can download CUET 2023 Admit Card using the steps mentioned in the section below.

  • Visit CUET 2023 admit card official website, cuet.samarth.ac.in.
  • Click on CUET 2023 admit card link on the homepage and login using your credentials- application ID and password. 
  • Once you have successfully logged in through CUET 2023 login, your hall ticket will be displayed on the screen.
  • Download and save you CUET 2023 admit card to be carried with you on exam day.

CUET 2023 Self-Declaration

CUET 2023 self-declaration form is a part of the admit card which is an undertaking on the candidate’s health status and travel history. Candidates are required to fill and sign CUET 2023 self-declaration form and carry the same along with the admit card on the exam day.


CUET 2023 Answer Key

NTA will release CUET 2023 Answer Key on the official website, cuet.samarth.ac.in. First, the provisional answer key will be displayed which is open for challenges/objections, if any, with a payment of Rs. 200 per objection raised. Only after all the objections raised are scrutinized, NTA will release the final answer key.

How to Download CUET 2023 Answer Key?

  • Visit CUET 2023 answer key official website, cuet.samarth.ac.in,  and click on the link for answer key. 
  • CUET 2023 login window will open, enter your credentials- application ID and DOB. 
  • Once you login, CUET 2023 answer key PDF will be displayed on the screen. 
  • You can download the answer key PDF and save the same for future reference and to raise objections. 

NOTE: Candidates must note that no changes are entertained after the publication of CUET 2023 Final Answer Keys. NTA CUET Result is released based on these final answer keys approved by the subject experts. 

CUET 2023 Response Sheet

Before the release of CUET 2023 Answer Key, NTA is going to release the candidate responses. CUET 2023 Response Sheet PDF is going to be released on the official website, cuet.samarth.ac.in. Candidates will be able to download their response sheet through CUET 2023 login using their application ID and password. 

Candidates can use CUET 2023 Response Sheet and Answer Key PDF to calculate their expected scores in the exam.


CUET 2023 Result

CUET 2023 result is published on the official website, based on the final answer key. There is no option of applying for revaluation or rechecking of NTA CUET Result once announced. Candidates can expect CUET 2023 result to be declared in the 4th week of June 2023.

NTA does not release any merit list for CUET 2023. The merit lists are released by the respective participating universities. CUET Merit List will contain the list of candidates shortlisted for admission to the college.

CUET Merit List is prepared taking into account CUET 2023 scores and qualifying marks in board exams. Most universities give 40% weightage to board exams and rest to CUET scores while creating the merit list.

CUET UG 2023 Cut Off is going to depend upon the overall performance of the students all over the country. Candidates can get an idea about the overall cut-off by following the previous years’ cut-off trends. Since the counseling for CUET 2022 is still ongoing, the final cut-off is yet to be declared by the various participating universities. The minimum overall expected cut-off for CUET UG 2023 is discussed below.

CUET 2023 Counseling

CUET 2023 Counselling is not centralized. Students need to remember the following points regarding CUET 2023 counselling:

  • Every participating university holds its own counseling round.
  • Candidates who pass CUET UG 2023 exam and are named on the merit list are eligible to apply for admission to the university of their choice.
  • A university may hold multiple counseling rounds depending on the availability of seats.
  • Counseling will start only after NTA officially declares the exam results.

CUET 2023 Application Form

CUET 2023 registration was open from February 9 to March 30 and April 9 to 11, 2023. Candidates could fill CUET 2023 registration form in online mode only on the official website- cuet.samarth.ac.in. 

CUET 2023 Registration Fee 

CUET 2023 registration fee has increased. Additionally, unlike previous year, PwD candidates also had to pay CUET 2023 registration fee. The category-wise CUET 2023 registration fee has been listed in the table below. CUET 2023 application fee is charged based on the number of subjects chosen by the candidate.

Mode of Payment: CUET 2023 registration fee has to be paid in online mode only through Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card/UPI, or PayTM. Additional processing charges and GST are applicable as per the bank norms. 

Documents Required for CUET 2023 Registration

Candidates are required to submit a scanned copy of their photograph, signature, category certificate and PwBD certificate (wherever applicable). All the documents submitted must follow the photo-size guidelines released by NTA.

How to Fill CUET 2023 Application Form?

Candidates can register and fill NTA CUET 2023 application form through CUET login at cuet.samarth.ac.in. Candidates need to register, fill CUET form, pay the registration fee and download the final copy of the registration form for future reference. 

  • Visit the official website and register through CUET 2023 login at cuet.samarth.ac.in. 
  • Use the system-generated application number and password from the first step to login and complete CUET 2023 application form. 
  • Complete the CUET 2023 application form by entering your personal details, educational qualification, university/ program selection, test paper details, choosing Exam Cities, and uploading the documents required.
  • Once the form has been successfully submitted, pay the requisite application fee as per the number of subjects chosen and reservation category. 
  • Download, save and print the confirmation page of CUET 2023 application form for future reference.

CUET Application Form Correction

CUET 2023 Correction Window

CUET correction window is a one-time facility to make changes in the registration form. The window was open till April 3, 2023. Candidates could make the required changes in their application form through CUET 2023 login at cuet.samarth.ac.in

  • Corrections are permitted in only one of these fields- photo, signature, candidate name, father’s name, mother’s name.
  • Changes can be made to all these details such as Gender, Date of Birth, Category, Sub-Category, Class 10 details, Class 12 details, Test City within the same UT/ State, Subject Chosen, University/ College. 
  • No corrections will be entertained for phone number, email, and permanent & present address.

Ques. How can I apply for CUET 2023?
