GMCET 2023 Exam Dates are declared for April Session. GMCET 2023 will be conducted on April 23, 2023. Candidates aspiring to appear in GMCET 2023 can register themselves on the official website- gmcet.org. Last Date for GMCET 2023 Registration is April 22, 2023. The exam will be conducted in online mode, for a duration of 1 hour. GMCET 2023 is to be conducted in the English language. The result for GMCET September Session will be declared on April 26, 2023. 

What is GMCET? GLOBAL MEDIA COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (GMCET) was earlier known as the All India Media Common Entrance Test (AIMCET). GMCET is an all-South Asia Global Media Common Entrance Test that offers admission to the Undergraduate media courses. This is the Institution & University level entrance exam which is scheduled in the months of April to August, once each month, this year. The exam is powered by edInbox, South Asia’s largest education focussed platform. GMCET was conducted by the Global Media Education Council (GMEC) for the first time in 2021.

GMCET 2023 Eligibility Criteria

GMCET 2023 eligibility criteria that candidates need to fulfill include:

  • The Candidates must have a minimum education qualification of Higher Secondary (10+2) or any equivalent education with a minimum aggregate of 50% for General Category & 45% for SC/ST/OBC. OR

  • Candidates should be appearing for Higher Secondary (10+2) or any equivalent Education.

  • A candidate with a three or four-year diploma, from a recognized university approved by AICTE with a minimum of 50% marks can also apply.

GMCET Application Process

Candidates who wish to appear for the GMCET 2023 have to follow the below-mentioned admission process.

Step 1: Fill out the Application Form

Register for the examination by providing all the required details and make sure that they are valid and correct. An automated email with Username & Password will be sent to your registered email ID/Phone Number for future references.

Note: Candidates will have to fill the application with all the relevant and valid information after making sure that they satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria for the examination. The application form will not be available in any other mode.

Step 2: Pay the Application Fee

After logging in to the portal, complete the payment by clicking on Pay Now. Proceed to the payment portal and choose Credit/Debit Card/Net Banking or UPI as per your choice. Interested candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of INR 1000/- to be able to take up the examination. The candidature of an individual will be confirmed only after the payment of the application fee.

Step 3: Submit the form

After successful completion, you would receive the Application form summary on your GMCET profile page as well as on your registered email ID. Download the Application form summary & save it for future references.

Step 4: Appear for GMCET 

The GMCET 2023 exam will be conducted in Online Mode. Candidates will be given a time slot to appear for the exam. Candidates are requested to appear at least 15 minutes before the beginning of the examination.

GMCET 2023 exam duration is one hour having 100 multiple choice questions with only one correct answer. The exam will be of a total of 100 marks and checks the student’s ability in four sections, with all multiple-choice questions. GMCET 2023 assesses the basic knowledge of the applicant in these four areas, with 25 questions in each segment: (A) English Language & IQ; (B) General Knowledge of News & Current Affairs; (C) Entertainment Media Knowledge; and (D) Brands & Brand Communication Basic Knowledge. As per GMCET 2023 Marking Scheme, 1 mark will be awarded for each correct answer. There is no negative marking for any wrong or unattempted answers. 

Guidelines for GMCET 2023 Exam

As per growing requests by students, we have facilitated the conduct of the exam online. To attempt the exam, candidates can use Mobile or Laptop or Desktop as per their choice.

Candidates are advised to read the guidelines before attempting the exam.

  • The GMCET 2023 exam will be conducted in online mode and you can appear it from your mobile, laptop or desktop.
  • There will be 100 MCQ with One Correct Answer, to be attempted in 60 minutes.
  • Candidates would be awarded 1 mark for each correct answer, however, there is no negative marking for any wrong answer.
  • Candidates are requested to appear at least 15 minutes before the beginning of the examination.

  • Results will be declared on April 26, 2023.
  • GMCET results will be available only on the official GMCET-2023 websites. Candidates will need to use their user login and password (created during the registration process) for viewing the results on the webpage.
  • The hard copy of the GMCET Score Card will not be available and hence, will NOT be sent to the qualified candidates either by post or by email.
  • All shortlisted candidates will get a common merit rank (All India Rank). All shortlisted candidates are considered qualified candidates for GMCET 2023.
  • The result declared is generated through Digital Medium & Enrollment into the course is subject to further verification of documents. The further process of admission will be notified to candidates by mail within 3 days from the declaration of the result.

GMCET 2023 Admission Process

Candidates seeking admission to undergraduate media courses offered by the universities stated above have to follow the process as under:

Step 1: Appear for a Personal Interview

Based on a candidate's score in the online test, they may be called for the Counselling Document Verification round. Candidates who qualify in all the stages of the admission process can participate in further counseling.

Step 2: Appear for Counselling

Selected candidates can appear for counseling in the universities to which they want to take admission. Thereafter, they had to complete the admission formalities and pay the course fee.

Test Centres: The GMCET 2023 exam will be conducted in Online Mode. Candidates will be given a time slot to appear for the exam. Candidates are requested to appear at least 15 minutes before the beginning of the examination. The test slots for the exam day will be informed a day before the examination on the registered email and mobile number of the candidate.
