JIPMER PG Counselling

JIPMER PG 2023 Counselling Procedure

Considering the ongoing global pandemic, the counselling will be conducted online, wherein, all the candidates are required to register themselves for the counselling round. The online procedure to participate in JIPMER PG 2023 counselling has already been announced by the authority.

Step 1: Registration

  • The first step of counselling includes registration of qualified candidates. 
  • The candidates who fail to register themselves for the first round of counselling process will not be allowed to further take part in the counselling rounds except the final round.

Step 2: Choice filling

  • Once the candidates successfully complete the registration process, they need to provide their preferences of specialties in which they are willing to take admission into. 
  • While filling the choices, the candidates must keep in mind their interest and their rank. 
  • The relevant documents need to be uploaded as well.

Step 3: Mock counselling

  • The mock counselling is conducted to give a basic idea on :
  • How the seat allotment process takes place, on the basis of their preferences, rank, seats availability, reservation criteria and other important factors. 
  • The seat allotted during MD/MS mock counselling will be considered for admission.

Step 4: Choice filling for first round of counselling

  • Once the mock allotment is completed, candidates will be given one more chance to fill their choices for the first round of seat allotment. 
  • Candidates should note that once they fill their choices, it will be considered final for round one counselling. Besides this, the admissions will be granted on the basis of these choices only.

Step 5: JIPMER PG seat allotment and downloading the allotment letter

  • JIPMER PG 2023 seat allotment for round one will be declared online. 
  • The allotment of seats depends on a number of factors like JIPMER PG rank, choice filled, seats Availability, reservation criteria and many more factors. 
  • Also, the shortlisted candidates will be able to download their JIPMER PG 2023 allotment letter by mentioning the specialty allotted, date and time of admission and other important details. 
  • Candidates should carry their JIPMER PG 2023 seat allotment letter to the allotted institute.

  • MBBS degree or Provisional Pass Certificate

  • Conduct certificate (from last attended institute)
  • Transfer Certificate (from last attended institute)
  • Migration certificate (from last university attended)
  • Permanent or Provisional Medical Registration Certificate
  • Certificate from the last institute attended that degree imparted by it is MCI recognized.
  • Residence Certificate (AADHAR card or Voter ID or Passport)
  • Reserved category (OBC/SC/ST) certificate (if applicable)
  • Medical Certificate for OPH candidates
  • Proof of OCI registration (for OCI candidates)

Highlights of JIPMER PG 2023 Counselling

  • The important fact about counselling is that the exam has been replaced by INI CET and a combined counselling will be conducted for AIIMS, JIPMER and PGIMER. 
  • Considering the ongoing global pandemic, JIPMER PG 2023 counselling round one will be conducted online. Candidates are required to register themselves for JIPMER PG counselling round one.
  • It is compulsory for all the candidates to physically present at the institute allotted to them, the failure of which will result into cancellation of candidature under all circumstances.
  • The authority releases a category-wise and overall JIPMER PG 2023 merit list and all those candidates whose names appear in the merit list are then required to participate in JIPMER PG Counselling process.
  • JIPMER, Puducherry releases an official notification before each counselling round. Those candidates whose rank comes under the eligible list are then required to report at the JIPMER PG 2023 counselling venue within the specified time only.
  • Both registered, as well as unregistered candidates of the first round of counselling, are eligible to take part in the final round of JIPMER PG 2023 counselling as a fresh registration for unregistered candidates will be conducted.
  • The Candidates will be offered a total of 24 disciplines from MD/MS course to select from as per availability of seats in the JIPMER PG 2023 Counselling.
  • Candidate's exercising option will have to submit a fee of ₹17,960, for which they will be provided a receipt.
  • Medical graduates are required to furnish the fee submission receipt while collecting their admission order, and to obtain the admission order, the JIPMER PG counselling 2020 procedure has to be successfully completed.
  • In case, any Candidate wishes to withdraw his admission before the admission order releases, he will be liable to submit ₹50,000 as fee. Also, the admission fee paid by him will not be refunded. The only exception to the above mentioned case is the candidate being medically disqualified.

Eligibility for JIPMER PG Counselling 2023

There are some specifications for eligibility of candidates after the first round of JIPMER PG 2023 Counselling:

  • The Candidates who failed to register themselves for the first round of counselling will not be allowed to appear for the subsequent rounds of Counselling except the final round of JIPMER PG 2023 counselling.
  • The candidates who appeared in the first round of counselling but did not exercise option will be eligible for the second round of counselling and the same also applies for the third round too.
  • In case, seats still remain vacant after all the three rounds of counselling, then those vacant seats will be offered to candidates in the final round of counselling.
  • The final round of JIPMER PG 2023 counselling will be open to all the candidates irrespective of their registration in the first round or vice versa.
  • In case, any seat belonging to any of the reserved category remains vacant and it is still not allotted to any candidate until the final round, then those vacant seats will be allotted to the eligible General category candidates.

Ques. If I couldn't register myself for JIPMER PG 2023 counselling round one, can I register for round two?

Ans. The Candidates who failed to register themselves for the first round of counselling will not be allowed to appear for the subsequent rounds of Counselling except the final round.

Ans. If any seat belonging to the reserved category remains vacant and it is still not allotted to any candidate until the final round, then those vacant seats will be allotted to the eligible General category candidates.
