SNAP Reservation 2022: Program Wise Policy For SC, ST, and Differently Abled

SNAP Reservation 2022: To grant the opportunity for equal participation of students in the Institutes of management, there are certain SNAP reservation policies. These reservation policies aimed at providing seats reservation to SC & ST candidates, DAC, Defence Personnel, Kashmiri Migrants, and international applicants.

• Candidates seeking MBA admission through SNAP must have a clear understanding of reservation policy and eligibility of SNAP 2022.
• SC candidates are provided a reservation of 15% while ST candidates are provided 7.5% reservation.
• As estimated, every year more than or equal to 50,000 test – takers appear for the SNAP examination to avail admission in the management institutes.
• SNAP is an online exam of total time duration of maximum 60 minutes or say 1 hour. Check SNAP Paper Pattern

SNAP 2022 Reservation Policy

The reservation policy of the Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies is different from various other institutes. The reservation policy aims at granting discrimination free opportunities to all the students to take the admission in the institute. Below mentioned is the percentage of reservation offered to the students belonging to different categories.

Categories of SNAP 2022 Reservation

As per the guidelines by the Ministry of Social Justice and Development and University Grants Commission and the Government of India, there is some percentage of reserved seats for the differently abled students as well in SIU. The types of disabilities covered under the differently abled category in SNAP 2022 test are as followed -

1. Vision Impairment
2. Hearing Impairment
3. Locomotors Disabilities
4. Mental Retardation
5. Multiple Disabilities
6. Dyslexia

The above given list is the prime criteria for taking admission under differently abled category. This list would entitle to the provisionary admission for the candidates. Thereafter, the students are required to gain the authentication certificate from the Symbiosis Center of Health Care (SCHC). As per the conditions for gaining the certificate, the candidates are required to have it within one month of the commencement of the session.

The Symbiosis Centre of Health Care (SCHC) will verify the documents as per the specified disability. It will also cross – check the presence and extent of the disability. Therefore, it is necessary to have the consultation along with the certificate from the SCHC for every students who avail for admission under this category. 

Reservation of Seats within the intake

1. Defence Category - General: 80% seats are reserved in the defence category for the dependents (Children / Ward) of Defence personnel. Admission to this list is done s per the merit.
2. Defence category - Special: 10% seats for dependents (Children / Ward) of Defence personnel (a) killed in action (war, counter insurgency or war like operation), or ( b) disabled in action (war, counter insurgency or war like operation), with more than 50% disability, or (c) who have died while in service, death being attributable to military service. This admission will also take place as per the merit.
3. Open / Industry Category: 10% seats are in open category for civilian candidates under open or sponsored / recommended by the Industry, as per the merit list. The 5% reservation for the children or wards of the defence personnel is only applicable on certain sets of programme which are available to them in their specific institutes.
