SRM JEEM 2023 Pattern, Syllabus and Prepration Tips

The SRM-JEEM question paper will be held online and it will be in English language only. There will be a time limit of two hours and thirty minutes, and at this time the candidates will have to solve 100 questions.

Well, it may sound a bit difficult, but the good news is that there will be no negative marking for the wrong questions. In fact, the SRM university board had also mentioned that all the questions will be Objective Type Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) and unlike IIT-JEE (advance) or other such exams, in SRMJEEM, each MCQ will have only one correct answer out of the four options.

The question paper will be divided into 5 equal parts on the following topics:

  1. Data interpretation,
  2. Quantitative,
  3. Logic,
  4. English,
  5. General Knowledge, Current Affairs and Business Application

There will be 20 questions in each part, and these questions will carry 3 marks each. And as mentioned earlier, there will be no negative marking. But the candidates will have to score at least 60 % overall marks/percentage for being eligible for admission at the SRM University. The university will also provide scholarships to top 10 rankers.

SRM JEEM 2023 Syllabus

SRM JEEM is an entrance examination designed for those students who are seeking admission to MBA programme offered by the SRM University. But, before appearing in the exam, students need to register themselves and the registration process begins from the month of January 2023.  

  • Talking about the syllabus, the questions in the paper will be asked from the five different subjects namely Data Interpretation, Quantitative, Reasoning, English and GK/ CA/ BA.
  • The questions in the paper will be of objective type
  • Each section is comprised of 20 questions and there is no negative marking
  • The total number of questions asked in the paper is of 100.

The SRM University is responsible for releasing the SRM JEEM 2023 Syllabus. The syllabus for different subjects is different. So, the subject-wise syllabus of each subject is explained in detail as below:

Syllabus for Data Interpretation

The total number of questions asked from this subject in the paper is 20. These questions help to evaluate the student’s ability to pick out critically the data and to apply that data to business decisions from given typical business situations.

  • For the better preparation of the subject, students are advised to start reading business newspapers/ magazines. It helps them to analyze the data given in pie-charts/ bar-graphs etc.
  • Students can improve their calculations by learning basic multiplication tables to advanced techniques of approximations.

Syllabus for Quantitative

This subject evaluates student’s skills of solving the mathematical problem of graduation level which include questions that they have learnt in +2 or equivalent level examination.

About Exam Pattern

It’s better to know the exam pattern in advance. It will help students in the better preparation of the examination. By knowing the examination pattern, students will come to know the type of questions asked in the paper, its difficulty level, marking scheme etc. The examination pattern is explained in detail as below:

  • This is a computer-based examination which is comprised of 100 objective type questions.
  • Total time duration to complete the exam is 100 minutes.
  • The paper is divided into five different sections such as Data Interpretation, Quantitative, Reasoning, English and GK/ CA/ BA.
  • Each section is the paper consists of 20 questions.
  • For each right answer, 3 marks will be awarded.
  • There is no negative marking.
