What are the key factors that kept you connected to educational institutes?

“Teaching is my passion, not a profession”

Amongst many factors for keeping me connected with the education sector, the topmost one is my passion for it. I have learned and experienced over the years that teaching is a mission and not a profession. Integrating Mission, Passion, and Profession leads to Teaching is a mission by passion and not an only profession. Secondly, besides imparting education, we in education institutes like ours are shaping humans to contribute towards the nation-building process. The third factor is that over years, the education sector has undergone a sea change. We often talk about and see that changes happen in industries but who brings these changes in the industries, the changes are by-products of an institute like ours who always believes that change is the only constant in the world. These are the key factors that motivate me to stay connected with the education sector.

What is your philosophy of leadership?

“To maintain balance within the organization by collaboration, teamwork, and guidance”

Coming to my philosophy of leadership, a better answer would be given by my colleagues at my education institute. But as I’m supposed to answer, I believe in adherence to the framework with an open mindset which leads to reforms. As such autonomy, reforms are the buzzwords in the recently launched National Education Policy 2020 and that's why I believe in an open mind set up. As far as my leadership philosophy is concerned, I execute my leadership responsibilities in a bureaucratic way through discussions and brainstorming with my colleagues and counterparts for making the decisions and making them happen. The way I want it or the way it has been decided. In exclusive circumstances, I prefer to be autocratic, but well with the approval of my higher authorities.

How do you make the Course Curriculum industry-oriented?

“To bridge the gap between the practical and theoretical skills of students”

As far as the involvement of the industries in the education or teaching-learning process is concerned, at the GHRCE, it has been our USP for a long time. We are involving industry experts at all levels of education i.e. at all levels of the learning and evaluation process. I would like to mention that curriculum design then curriculum development is delivery and its evaluation at all levels, we have involvement of industry and industry experts. We are pioneers in implementing a semester (Six Months) industry project internship at our institute in the year 2013. That is a big exposure as far as our students are concerned. Besides industry internships, we are regularly organizing industry expert sessions, industry visits, and industry elective offerings. We have conducted industry expert sessions and industry visits, all these things in the online mode that is very specifically I would like to mention.

What are your roles and responsibilities to the Institute and the students?

“To guide youth in the best possible way to focus on the development of the Nation”

So as stated earlier I have narrated about my roles and responsibilities somewhere it has reflected. But to be very specific, my roles and responsibilities, not only as a dean of academics of G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering but also as a responsible citizen of India, I would like to do everything in the best possible way to nurture the passion of the youths of our country. to nurture the passion of youths, I mean, to make the collective efforts to conserve the energy of our youth in a constructive way towards the nation-building process of our great country. I can go very specific in how I want to define my roles and responsibilities. But whatever I have stated before has covered almost all of the points which as a dean academic as well as a responsible citizen of India, I am supposed to do for the future of youths and the future of the country.

What do you think should be the Institute’s top priority over the next 10 years?

“Effective implementation of the provisions stated by Engineering College in NEP-2020”

Recently, the Ministry of education, Government of India, has launched, much-awaited, and discussed National Education Policy 2020. It has many provisions as far as higher education, engineering education is concerned. So our top priority at our Institute is effective implementation of the provisions stated by engineering colleges in NEP-2020. The philosophy of our college is imparting quality education, and so we at GHRCE are leading to provide quality education to the student shareholders so that they can have a lifelong learning experience. Coming to other priorities, as you have said, to continue undergoing the accreditation ranking in addition to possessing the international ranking. These are our regular features, which we undertake. This is not just to show, but this is for introspection of ourselves, and identifying the grey areas, and working on those. Here I would like to mention that besides the NBA, NAAC, and NIRF these are the keywords that are known to the people by enlarging, we at our institute have undergone NABL accreditation for laboratories. And I would like to mention that recently AICTE has given our institute approval to start a PG course in Defence Technology in association with DRDO, which is Defence Research and Development Organisation.

What would you like people to know about your Institute they may not know?

“GHRCE ensures the promotion of R & D, Innovation, and entrepreneurship culture”

See, besides ranking and achievements of GHRC which are known to all, in some or other way and they are available in the public domain also. Now, what I would like you and all the viewers to know about my institute, GHRC, is that we are doing much beyond that being reflected in ranking and other achievements. It is for students and society as our corporate social responsibility. Being said that, We at GHRCE ensure the R & D, Innovation, and entrepreneurship culture in the upcoming areas of interdisciplinary engineering which makes us flexible in the execution of our academics.

What advice would you give to the students for them to have a prosperous career ahead?

“Students should keep themselves upheld to receive the maximum around them”

Generally, it is said that this new generation or I named them as GENx. These people are very smart and they are always on toes and they don’t require any advice as such or I would like to dare to say that they don’t listen to any advice, but if you will force me and as I'm supposed to, would like to try to put it in the words that dear aspirant students, this is not an advice, but just the words to keep with yourself, I would like to say that to keep yourselves upheld in the receiving mode to gain maximum around you. I will repeat, to keep yourself upheld to receive the maximum around you and based upon whatever you have gained from around you, take it to simpler ways to solve the complex things in your life. This is again, this goes equally with the engineering courses that you would like to take as your profession, as your career and everything, such as a lifelong learning experience.
