What are your responsibilities towards the students of this college?

“To enable students and administrative members with clear communication and comprehensive education”

Being a coordinator of the Journalism Department, my job is to maintain the highest quality of teaching. I always try to encourage students to interact with the teachers and vice-versa. This communication mostly helps the students who are introverts and have difficulty communicating their academic issues. It is also my responsibility to ensure equal and productive distribution of the syllabus in separate semesters. The flexible policy is a key factor in today’s dynamic education scenario.

How do you tend to establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?

“Allowing them to express their concerns constructively has helped in this area”

I’m very comfortable with all my fellow faculties within my college. We frequently discuss many education-related topics like our syllabus, different curriculums, problems regarding teaching or students’ performance etc. On the other hand, I’m approachable to all my students and always try to make them comfortable in the academic setting.

What are the best practices offered by the department to the students?

“Interactive discussions, competitions and student-centric activities”

Our teachers always try to influence and motivate students to participate in different outdoor and innovative activities. These include college quiz competitions, debate competitions, cultural activities and more.

How do you strategize the curriculum and how often it gets updated?

“By understanding and incorporating the dynamic changes of Journalism into the syllabus”

Depending on the industrial requirements we change our curriculum that is the best fit for the student. We also update according to the changes in the industry of journalism, which is quite dynamic in the modern days. The purpose of the same is to ensure our students get maximum benefits from the syllabus.

How does your department prepare students for Higher education and Placements?

“Helping students to understand the potential requirements of markets and upcoming trends in industry”

All basic concepts of journalism and mass communication at a higher level are required to deal with the new challenges of modern industry. The students are guided well, by a team of experts, for appearing and selection in competitive examinations for higher studies. The department provides special classes for the preparation of subjects.

What are the challenges you are facing to uplift the quality of education of your department?

“The presence of Red-Tapism is a prevalent issue hindering academic growth”

The major challenge is the official protocol and the layer of instruction we have to follow every time before implementing any new system into our curriculum. I think it is important to have more flexibility in the modern education system. We wish to have a degree of authority to make small but significant changes in the education curriculum.
