She has completed an M.Tech in structural engineering and B.Tech in civil engineering. What are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

“Provide a supportive and positive academic environment with a strong ethical attitude”

Being a faculty of the civil engineering department, my roles and responsibilities towards the students are-

  • I provide quality education to students with learning activities, designed to help them fulfil their potential.
  • Teaching them to maintain effective ethics and professionalism.
  • Providing the extra resources to enrich their syllabus.
  • Promoting independence and confidence to complete their task within a time and to face new challenges.
  • Also, prepare them to learn to harness the evolving technologies as part of an organization.

How do you help your students in the current competitive world?

“By continuously motivating students to acquire new skills”

We work on student skills in terms of trending technologies such as Artificial intelligence in construction, computer-aided education, structural health monitoring, smart materials, robotics in civil engineering, GIS and GPS in civil engineering, use of 3D printing in construction, etc. We also organize events, model exhibitions and quizzes to modify their soft skills.


Do you have any extracurricular activities for students holistic growth?

“Student-centric activities and clubs are formed for music, sports, dance and other interests”

Yes, we do have extracurricular activities to enhance the skills of the students, these are:

  • SSB Club – Mentors the prospective students desirous to join the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Paramilitary forces. 
  • Aeromodelling Club-The students have raised the club, where they explore the engineering and art of designing, building, and flying powered or unpowered miniaturized aircraft models.
  • Music and Dance Club-The music club have been conceived and developed with a motto of “Verbreiten sie die Freude a der music” which means “to spread the joy of music’’ 
  • Sports Club -The college offers an extensive range of sports and fitness classes throughout the academic session.

What are the challenges you are facing to uplift the quality of education?

“There needs to be a modification in the infrastructure and available resources of the department”

  • There is less equipment in our civil engineering lab as per the strength of students
  • Requirement of the licensed software and latest versions of them.
  • More Faculty development programs should be conducted to enhance the knowledge.
  • We should have more precise digital equipment to fulfil the demand in practical aspects.

What has been your vision since you joined the college?

“To be a successful facilitator of life-changing education and enabling knowledge”

As a lecturer, I have a clear goal of providing quality education and necessary skills to students. This should motivate them to pursue higher education and various career-enhancing courses. I also have a vision

  • To excel in the field of civil engineering by nurturing the students with project and industrial-based teaching. 
  • To enable innovations and incorporate human values and ethics.
  • To teach with awareness and focus on Outcome-based education.

How does the curriculum of your College ensure the best practice of the industry?

By providing the knowledge, skills, and latest practices that are currently in demand”

The best way to facilitate industrial practices is by organizing field visits. We also organize guest lectures and workshops that help students acknowledge the real-world methodologies of the industries.


How does the College enhance the skills of the faculty?

By providing Faculty Development Programmes and training in latest subjects”

We provide workshops and Hands-on courses for the benefit of our faculty members. The latest software and topics are taught in these sessions such as 3ds max, Six Sigma, Ansys, MS Project, etc. We keep encouraging them to enrol in short-term courses on different online platforms.
