Admission Experience

Did you avail of the benefit of any reservation?

Sreemaye Chatterjee: “General (No reservation)”

Describe the general setting of WAT / GD (if any)?

Sreemaye Chatterjee: “This year due to covid related issues Gd and WAT both were held in an online mode.

Yes everyone got a chance to speak in the GD round and the GD topic was moderate and based on current affairs.

Around 10-15 mins were given to discuss the given topic den 30sec were given to each candidate to summarize the discussion.

In the case of WAT, it was held in a separate slot on a separate date. It was a 10 mins test. As soon as we logged in, a topic was given and we got exactly 10 mins to think and write about it.

It was definitely a different kind of experience and personally, I think the space that provided to write our essay in the WAT slot was too narrow. I had to scroll up and down every time I wanted to go through my easy or modify it. During that short time slot, it is very distracting and time-consuming as well.

For current aspirants I would like to suggest that along with your MBA exam preparation, prepare for current and static gk as well cus after you are shortlisted you won't get enough time to prepare for your interview which could really be a liability for you.”

What was the WAT / GD Topic?

Sreemaye Chatterjee: "WAT topic was related to how robotics and AI have effected our life and what has it really changed?

GD topic was three farm bills - effects, pros and cons and why were the farmers protesting against it ?”

What were your answer/points put forward for the WAT or GD respectively?

Sreemaye Chatterjee: “In WAT I wrote an essay on how robotics are being helpful in different ways and how AI is changing our life. Various ways it can be helpful. Pros and cons of robotics.

In GD I described three farm bills that were issued. What were the terms laid by the govt and reasons why farmers were protesting.”

Describe the general setting of your personal Interview.

Sreemaye Chatterjee: “It was an online personal interview. There were 2 panellists and most probably they were faculty members. It was an overall 20 mins interview.

As for the aspirants, I'll suggest just stay calm and confident during the PI. Always remember confidence is the key. Nobody expects you to be perfect and know everything and all answers. It is okay to say you don't know few answers to their questions. Just be honest and don't pretend to know everything if u don't.”

What do you know about AI? Describe it with an example related to your daily life.

State 5 points from Union Budget 2021.

Describe blockchain.

Few other questions related to my academics.”

Mention 3 reasons why you chose this college over other colleges which you converted (OR if you did not join this college after converting it, mention 3 reasons for not joining it).

Sreemaye Chatterjee: “I chose SIBM Bangalore because symbiosis has a good brand name and I got into a course which I actually wanted.”

Check SIBM Reviews

What was the reason for you not converting to other colleges?

Sreemaye Chatterjee: “I couldn't score well in CAT.

My weakness is verbal. Like most people I concentrated more on quants and in the process I partially ignored verbal until it was too late.

I suggest all aspirants divide and conquer. Just divide your time and concentration and work for it. You will do a lot better.
