Trisha Singh: “General (No reservation).”

Describe the general setting of WAT / GD (if any)?

Trisha Singh: “The GD happened on the SIBM campus. Each panel consisted of 10-11 students. Everyone got the chance to speak. There were 2 moderators present to moderate the GD. We were given 2 mins to think about the topic and 10 mins to discuss it. It was a soft and smooth GD. We also had a WAT wherein we had to write an essay on a topic. We got 10 mins for the WAT. We were supposed to write one page on one side only approximately 200 words for the same. 2 mins were given to think over the topic.”

What was the WAT / GD Topic?

Trisha Singh: “GD topic- How is corporate managing it's CSR activities.

WAT- Technology vs Humans.”

What were your answer/points put forward for the WAT or GD respectively?

Trisha Singh: “GD- what is CSR, how is it important for the companies, how are companies leveraging it these days, what is strategic CSR, how can companies leverage more business out of strategic CSR.

WAT- always start with what you understand from the topic, pros, and cons, statistics, and conclusions on the basis of statistics.”

Describe the general setting of your personal Interview.

Trisha Singh: "There was 1 panel of 2 professors who took my interview. One was faculty at SIBM and one was an industry expert. The interview was an offline one. The interview lasted for 20 minutes. It was not stressful for me but they tried to make it stressful.

Pro tip- nothing beats confidence and the knowledge you have. Keep reading and be very confident about yourself."

Mention at least 5 interview questions that were asked to you and your responses to each of them.

Trisha Singh: “1. Why MBA?

To learn the fundamentals of corporate and understand business and its nuances. To learn skills and better your career opportunities. It enhances communication skills and overall personality development.

  1. Extracurricular activities done in past?

Dancer, artist, co-founder of Lucknow-based NGO, swimmer.

  1. Why MBA after Maths honors?

I built analytical skills with my Maths honors degree and wanted to have hands-on practical implications of the skills I have. I always had a business acumen so I felt the combination of maths honors with an MBA will go well for me to have a good career opportunity incorporate.

  1. Technical questions. The difference between the two numbers is given. The numbers are such that one is in the reverse order of the other. What is the number?

Gave the right answer. It's a mathematical problem to solve

  1. What is the temperature outside right now? In Celcius and Fahrenheit"

Mention 3 reasons why you chose this college over other colleges which you converted.

Trisha Singh: “Cleared in first cut off, expert faculty, good placement.

I wanted to pursue MBA in marketing, I was very clear about this. So I checked the placements report, the faculty, marketing placements, learnings, and course structure. The hostel and college being in the same place make it a very cordial and learning environment. "

What was the reason for you not converting other colleges? (if any)

Trisha Singh: “So I missed many colleges by a very few marks and in some cases in decimal marks. I recall my IIFT entrance where I missed clearing the exam by 0.35 because I had not timed the exam well because of which I couldn't attempt more questions in the data interpretation section. I cleared the overall cut-off but couldn't clear the sectional cut-off. always time your exam and have a strategy for clearing it.”
