Gurgaon, November 20, 2018: School of Management, GD Goenka University, Gurgaon organized HR Summit “Heuristic” on November 16, 2018, at the University premises. This year, the theme of the Summit was “HR Practices for harnessing the Potential of a Millennial Workforce”. The Summit endeavored to bring renowned professionals and leading HR experts from multiple sectors, academicians from leading educational institutions and stalwarts from multiple domains to deliberate on key issues pertaining to working with and retaining the millennial generation. The Summit was presided over by Mr. Rajesh Padmanabhan - Director, Welspun Group, Prof. (Dr.) Suku Bhaskaran - President, GD Goenka University and Prof. (Dr.) Kim Menezes - Dean, School of Management.

The Summit was represented by over 100 industry delegates, Ph.D. Scholars, HR faculty and management students. The Summit’s key feature was its two highly informative and engaging panel discussions on the following sub-themes:

Each of the panels deliberated in-depth on the generational divide between the workings and practices of the millennials. There was an emphasis on the need for academia to enhance soft skills like resilience and patience in millennial students as well as building hard skills like data analysis. The industry agreed to enhance their interaction with the students through more live projects and interactions during the academic studies.
