Dr. Akhilesh A Waoo is the Head of Computer Department at the AKS University. He has 21 years of experience in academic and research careers. He did M. Tech (CSE) and holds UGC-NET, RHCSA, and NPTEL certification. He is a coordinator for IIT-Bombay, IIT Delhi-Virtual Lab Microsoft, RedHat, and SWAYAM/MOOC. He hosts various national and international events, workshops and seminars. His research interests are in computer networks and algorithms. He has published over 90 research papers in international journals, including Scopus. He received the Best Faculty Award and Best Research Paper Award.

What keeps you connected with the education sector?

“My teaching passion, research and imparting ideas for students connects me with the education sector”

One of my passions is teaching, research and career counseling. We encourage students for the latest skills and job opportunities. Our students are directly connected with global platforms and MNCs through their careers in Computer Science. We have research facilities or infrastructure for the teachers and students. I am always dedicated to a better future for all students and researchers.

What are your roles and responsibilities?

“To encourage students for internship, campus placements, and provide certification programs”

My primary role is to launch a new course with the latest industry demand and give industrial or career-oriented training. We support students for internship embedded courses and campus placements. They are aware of the latest skill sets and market requirements. Our faculties encourage students for research and incubation activities. We give global certification programs like Redhat Linux and Microsoft. 

Do you have any extracurricular programs to enhance the skills of the students?

“Provide webinars, industrial visits, internship programs and soft skill development sessions for pupils”

Our campus gives Hackathon, GATE Classes and Quizzes for pupils. We tie up with various institutes, universities, and IT industries for Skill development of students. They get Soft skill development sessions, Personality development workshops, National workshops, webinars, industrial visits and guidance for job opportunities Webinars.

How do you try to bring a practical approach towards subjects as industry oriented in AKS University?

“Case studies, Projects, Internship, and Smart City projects are available for pupils”

We give case studies in teaching aspects and MSME entrepreneurship motivation. Students get internships in each UG and PG Program. They also get Projects in every semester in senior classes. Our campus focus on student interaction with Digital India and Smart City projects
