How does the program prepare the students for the future?

There are many opportunities for an Electrical Engineering graduate. The course prepares one for various roles in many private and Government sectors. After course completion, one may find a wide array of opportunities in private industries like cement, textile, and metal industries, wire and fabrication industries, plastic and paper manufacturing industries, electrical panel designing companies, transmission and distribution companies, power production industries, telecommunication industries, etc.

Students may also go for central and state government jobs like State Electricity Board, Indian Railway, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, etc., and some other jobs in defense as such in the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Airforce.

How did you train yourself/the faculty to deliver this program to the students?

We use two-way teaching theory - the theoretical and practical ways. We encourage the use of charts, assignments, presentations, and problem-solving. First, the teacher delivers lectures in the classroom. Then they assign charts, presentations, and project work to different student groups. This strategy increases the consciousness and learning of each student about every unit ensuring their overall growth and development. We have well-qualified, experienced, and dedicated faculty from reputed institutes (like IIT, NIT, VIT University, Thapar University, RTU, etc.) committed to teaching and passionate about research and development, which makes this department unique.

How do you build an industry connection with this program?

All the courses at Mewar University comprises two types of training. In a four-year B.Tech., 45 days of training is provided at the end of the 3rd year. Only certification courses like Automation and Pilot-Controlled Instrument Landing are allowed in this training. The students visit Government ATI Centers of Panchkula, Chandigarh, and Ahemdabad for training. In the end, the trained students give presentations in the training and placement department.

Per the curriculum, after the completion of the 7th semester, students complete six months of internship. Under the training and placement department, our TPO director Mr. Harish Gondani guides the students. Students learn how to work in the industry environment and how to deal with the various challenges they may face during their job.

Any advice to the current youth and aspiring students?

I would like to advise all the students that scenarios change with time. During the pandemic, we preferred online teaching due to unavoidable conditions. Currently, the situations are favorable, so it is best to stick with offline teaching mode as our courses are technical, and online teaching mode would be futile. I suggest to all the students that online teaching mode is not preferable. Online teaching mode, especially in engineering, is wasteful because, without hands-on experience, practical knowledge will be lacking.
