UEM, Jaipur held various events and workshops recently. This establishes UEM as an institution that focuses on the holistic development of its students. Mentioned below are the highlights of the various events.

Corporate Cricket League

The University of Engineering and Management (UEM), Jaipur hosted the inaugural Corporate Cricket League on March 4 and 5, 2023, at the UEM Jaipur Cricket Stadium.

Teams from the UEM, Rajasthan Police, Rajasthan Attorneys Association, Rajasthan Press Club, Rajasthan Medical Association, Rajasthan Electricity Division (JVVNL), and the Rajasthan Chartered Accountants Association participated in the league. Each group gave a wonderful performance.

After two days of exciting competition, the tournament’s eight teams were eliminated. The final game was a match between Re-Life Hospital and the UEM squad. The Cricket League was won by Re-Life hospital. The winning team was awarded trophies and INR 25,000/-; the runner-up team was given INR 15,000/- in addition to their trophies. Open Placement Platform- UEM Jaipur

The government of Rajasthan, Department of Skill, Employment, and Entrepreneurship in association with the University of Engineering & Management, Jaipur organized an open placement platform named ‘The Jaipur Grand Job Mela’ on 2nd March 2023 which was attended by 60+ companies and 2423 students. A total of 636 students got job offers and will be called for further rounds at company premises. Some of the major companies that visited the campus were Axis Bank, Careerhollic, Crack-ED (Cardekho Group), Fusion Business Solutions (P) Limited, Fusion Micro Finance Ltd., Justdial Ltd., Kotak Mahindra Bank, Quess Corp Ltd. Sanska International Educational Services Pvt. Ltd.Save Microfinance Pvt. Ltd. Startup Labs Infotech Pvt. Ltd., Sugmya Finance Pvt. Ltd. and many more.

Placements

UEM, Jaipur witnessed impressive placements in the last academic session. The highest salary offer at UEM Jaipur went up to INR 72 lakhs per annum and the average salary offer was INR 6 lakhs per annum. Most of the students got more than 2 Job offers and had several interesting job opportunities to choose from.

Basant Utsav’ 23 

On the occasion of Holi, students and teachers of the UEM, Jaipur celebrated with a cultural festival - Basant Utsav. It was a colorful and vibrant celebration of the festival of Holi. The event was held on the campus grounds on 7th March 2023.

The students enthusiastically participated in various activities, including folk songs and dances, heralding the arrival of the spring season. The students' performances were a testament to the rich cultural heritage of India, and the event provided an enjoyable experience for all participants. The event concluded with the inspiring words of Prof Dr. Biswajoy Chatterjee, Vice Chancellor, and Prof. Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, Pro-Vice Chancellor of UEM Jaipur who were witnessed reminiscing and sharing their memories of Holi with the audience

International Conference

The 2nd International Conference on Human-Centric Smart Computing (ICHCSC 2023) will be organized by the University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur on 5th and 6th July 2023 in New Delhi. Interested students can participate by submitting their papers whose last date is 31st March 2023. All accepted and presented papers will be published in the book series of Springer named Smart Innovation, Systems, and Technologies (SIST). This book series is indexed in SCOPUS. UEM Jaipur International Conference

International Women’s Day

In continuation of a series of events to celebrate International Women’s Day, the Department of English, UEM Jaipur today organized the Jingle Convention, a poetry recitation event by eminent poets and authors on the theme ‘ Women as Foundation of Value-Based Society’. Many Award-winning poets and authors namely Ms. Pankhuri Sinha (Bihar), Ms. Mili Das (West Bengal), Dr. Shalini Yadav (Rajasthan), and Dr. Firoz Khan (Rajasthan) were present to mark the event. The event was chaired by Prof. (Dr) Rajul Bhargava, a Former Professor, at the University of Rajasthan. The poets and educationists hailing from different parts of India made a scathing attack on the society for its falling ethical benchmarks, venting their ire over rising crime against women, her status in society, the rising threat of AI [artificial intelligence] and war, etc. The emphasis was on creating positive literature.

Throughout the session, students, participants, and listeners together enjoyed powerful, inspirational, and passionate poems on the themes of Women, love, life, death, and migration. Many poems reflected the role of women in building a strong foundation of value-based society and women-related issues. It was clear from the session that poetry touches the hearts of everyone, transcending language barriers and bringing us together. The whole event was full of sensibility and sensitivity towards humanity and Poetry, making the event a gala success.

The master of ceremonies, Ms. Shreya Pareek (BBA II Year) and Ms. Vandana Sharma (BCA I Year) were appreciated for being wonderful anchors. The entire event was coordinated by the members of the Department of English, Dhanika (Women Cell), and The Speech Society.

Aeromodelling Club

Student members of UEM JAIPUR Aeromodelling Club organized a workshop - FALCONIX on 11th and 12th March 2023 as a prerequisite for the upcoming tech-fest TechUtopia 2023 coordinated by Dr. Anurag Hamilton.

In this workshop, students learned how to design and build an RC aircraft. RC aircrafts built during the workshop will be used in the final competition on 18th March 2023.

National Service Scheme

NSS (National Service Scheme) conducted NIC (National Integration Camp) for Rajasthan in the University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur, wherein 250 student volunteers of NSS from 13 different states of the country participated in a 7 days long camp.

Distinguished Speakers Program

ACM Student Chapter & Department Of Computer Science & Engineering, University Of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur in association with IIC & IQAC organized a Distinguished Speakers Program by Dr. Sunil Kumar Vuppala, who is a demonstrated thought leader in AI, analytics, and Internet of Things with 16+ years of industrial and research experience. He is the Director – Data Science, at Ericsson Global AI Accelerator (GAIA), Bangalore. Before joining Ericsson, Dr. Sunil worked in Oracle, Infosys R&D, and Philips Research. The session was held on 9th March 2023 on Zoom Meetings. 

RTI Summit

Students of the University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur actively participated in two days RTI Summit at Indira Gandhi Panchayati Raj & Gramin Vikas Sansthan, Jaipur (Rajasthan) on 25-26 March 2023.

They had the opportunity to know and learn the whereabouts of the Transparent, Sensible, and Accountable legislative and Executive System in India. Students showed enthusiasm and participation for better democratic and equitable Indian territory.

Brainy Bones Quiz

Students of the Physiotherapy Department organized the ‘Brainy Bones’ quiz event. The primary aim of the quiz program was to share basic medical knowledge among the students and to explore the limits of memory. The event was coordinated by Prof. Dr. Imran Khan.

International Management Conclave

The program was inaugurated by Mr. Dhanpat Raj Dhariwal, Founder of Vision 2025 and Mr. Anil Agarwal, Managing Director of NAV Back Office, Jaipur along with Prof. Dr. Biswajoy Chatterjee, Vice-Chancellor,Prof. Dr. Pradeep Sharma, Registrar and Prof. Dr. Preeti Sharma, Convener & Head of School of Management, UEM Jaipur.

Experts from diversified domains participated in the program and discussed the new changes taking place in the Human Resource along with the requirements to cope up with those changes effectively.
