Dr. S.S Tripathi has been working as a Professor and Dean of Agriculture Department at Invertis University, Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. He has done his Bachelor's and Masters in Agricultural Engineering from University of Allahabad and Ph.D. in Soil and Water Conservation Engineering form SHUATS, Allahabad. He has more than 32 years of working experience in Indian Veterinary Research Institute, lzatnagar and he has also registered 4 Patent Designs to his credit. He has a rich exposure of research, teaching, administration and management. His areas of specialization include Soil and Water Engineering, Farm Machinery & Power Engineering, Natural Resource Management, Animal Feed Production Technology and Precision Agriculture etc.

Our college is offering B.Sc. (Hons.) in Agriculture at UG level along with M. Sc. course in Agriculture and Food Technology. The same is followed by our department with the help of qualified faculty and best infrastructure available.

The Agriculture sector has proved to be most resilient even during covid-19, as it has registered a growth of 3.6% in 2020-21 and 3.9% in 2021-22, even when there was negative or no growth in other sectors of economy in India. I am sure the future will be bright for those students who are pursuing B. Sc. and M. Sc. c as new technology and farming methods for better crop production will require skilled professionals. Moreover, the agricultural sector desperately needs new entrants as farm entrepreneurs to substitute a generation of old farmers. So career opportunities associated with each course makes them a perfect fit for students.

What would you say are the best practices of the courses offered by your institute to help students?

We have established a READY (Rural and Entrepreneurship Awareness Development Yojana) program in our college for offering employment oriented education to students and transform them into future leaders and Entrepreneurs. This program consists of three best and pertinent practices including Rural Agriculture Work Experience, Agro-industrial attachment and Skill Development Training for students all around growth and development.

What are some valuable insights of the programs that your institute is offering to students currently?

We have highly qualified and experienced faculty members to teach our students followed by modernized laboratories Qualified faculty. And we also keep organizing industrial visits in reputed organizations along with guest lectures in collaboration with highly experienced Faculty, Scientists and Entrepreneurs on a regular basis. And along with imparting best technical knowledge, we also provide human values and ethics education to make our students emotionally and ethically strong. Last but not the least ,we have sessions and training programs for students on topics like Communication Skills & Personality Development, IT & Communication Technology along with Entrepreneurship Development, Business Management and Agri-Informatics.

This practice not only helps them with the latest industrial trends and expectations but also helps them to modify their teaching methodologies accordingly.

How do you build a connection between industry requirements and your institute courses?

"By collaborating with reputed industries to conduct training and expert sessions in college"

We have collaborated with a wide variety of industries including Seed Production Industry, Storage and Preservation Industry, Value Addition Industry, Post-harvest management of agriculture product and Agri-input industry in order to bring best opportunities for our students in college and provide them industry specific and placement oriented customized training programs.

What challenges have you faced while inculcating the above mentioned programs in your curriculum?

"Establishing infrastructure and modernized labs for smooth conduction of these courses is a hurdle"

We are facing numerous challenges while including the newly introduced courses of B.Sc. and M. Sc. into our curriculum. And we are struggling with establishing proper Infrastructure, laboratories and field labs which are essential components to deliver the required practical knowledge to our students under these courses. Apart from this, we don't have highly qualified faculty members to teach these courses to our students. 

On what kinds of projects your students are working on through these programs?

"They are working on farming and nursery raising related projects"

Our students are developing amazing projects on areas including Mushroom Farming, Bee keeping, Nursery raising, Vermicomposting and Agri-inputs trading etc.
