Dr. T. Vellasamy Nadar is the chairman of this college and his son T.V Bethuraj is the Secretary at Dr.Nalli Kuppusamy Arts College. He has always been passionate about making contributions to the education system which also helps society. He is passionate about educating the girl-child and the underprivileged so that they emerge as successful individuals. 

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector? 

“The thought of being able to contribute to society”

My mind gets stuck with the Bharathi quotes“Erecting Charitablities in thousand buildings, temples in tens of thousands of all these, to teach alphabets to a poor little boy”. After hearing these quotes I started to serve education as a service. My main aim is to start different educational institutions and to give quality education to all the village peoples especially girls. I started various institutions such as polytechnic college, Arts and Science, Teacher Training Institute, and the College of Education. 

What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style? 

“Including everyone and motivating them to give their best” 

According to me, the philosophy of leadership is “About embracing and uniting everyone and then achieving the goal”. A college means generally it comprises students, teaching staff, non-teaching staff, and management people. Hence every person has to contribute their work to the growth of the institution then only the institution can achieve great success. So based upon this principle alone my leadership style has been applied. 

How do you strategize about the key programs and plans for the marketing and administration of your school? 

“Communicating through content”

Reach out to community members on social media. Develop our College’s Niche. Our student gets a university rank that was published in the newspaper. We encourage our staff members to work for the admission process. We also emphasize thought among our staff members such that marketing is for trying to communicate our institution among all types of people. It is not like selling purposes.

Any insights into how your university could be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds? 

“Sticking to our motto of ‘Providing Quality Education To All”

I started this institution mainly on the basis of providing education to poor people and also especially the girl’s students who have to get an education and to lead a good life in both industries as well as the family. We offer education as a service hence we get a very less amount from the students for their education. It is because of our affordable fee structure with a quality education that people from different races and backgrounds can easily be welcomed into our college.

What do you think should be the University’s top priority over the next 10 years?

“Digital Education among all the places”

After 10 years the top priority should be to “avoid the Unemployment”. These can be achieved by practicing the students to get involved in Entrepreneurship. Nowadays students can learn many things from the internet. As running the institution we have to find the talents of the students to encourage them to get shine in their respective fields.

What are some plans that you’re currently (or will be) designing for Dr. Nalli Kuppusamy Art College?

“To improvise their knowledge based upon the industry standards”

We have already taught several basic skills that they need to face in their daily lives such as bank form filling, filling up different government applications, etc.. We also take the students to Industrial Visit and encourage them to know about the things that have happened inside the industry and ask them to write articles about the industries. For the forthcoming academic year, we plan to teach value added courses such as programming skills, ethical hacking, etc.
