Dr. Satish Kumar is the Director of the Alliance College of Hotel Management, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. He has completed his M.com, MBA, and also has a Ph.D. to his credit. He is honoured with several awards for his contribution to this sector like the ‘Visista Gourav Puraskar’. He has been honoured by JCI for his outstanding contribution and has also won the ‘Asian Business Excellence Award’.
What is your philosophy of leadership?
“Democratic leadership and ability to build trust”
I believe that Leadership is built on trust, and that is its fundamental principle. In an academic environment, everyone must trust each other for the collective growth of the organization. As a leader, I work towards building this trust and enable others with decision making powers.
How do you plan for the administration of your school?
“With help of staff and faculty, to build a habitat of continuous learning”
My strategy would be to inculcate the habit of discipline, dedication and devotion to the students. I also motivate my teachers and staff members to participate in the smooth development of my institution.
How does the curriculum ensure the best practice of industry?
“A healthy mix of group discussions, seminars, and personality development”
Besides the requirements for all-round development, our curriculum emphasizes on "earn while you learn" programmes. In this way, the student can gain experience and develop social skills while studying. In addition to regular subject teaching, the curriculum heavily emphasizes group discussions, seminars, personality development, and communication skills.
