Mr. M D Mahesh is the Principal of Emeralds Degree College, Tirupati. He has 15 years of teaching experience. He has a B.C.A, M.C.A, and an M.B.A to his credit. Before this, he has worked for Emeralds Advanced Institute of Management Studies as well. He is a keen observer of the education sector and makes serious efforts towards its enhancement and growth.

What is your view on leadership?

“A leader should always maintain favorable and convenient surroundings among the staff”

A leader should unite all the people working with him/her. A good Leader should communicate well with working staff and always decide the Welfare of everyone. Taking care of all the grievances faced by the teammates must be a priority for the leader.

What are the strengths of your college?

“Industrial training, comprehensive personality development and expert faculties” 

The strength of this college includes the dedicated faculties comprising of 25 highly experienced members, with experience of more than 10 years. Out of which 3 have doctorate degrees. Some of them have industrial exposure and come from a corporate background.

Another strong aspect of our college is that In addition to theoretical knowledge, we also train students with practical knowledge and examples. We help and guide the students through internships, industrial visits, and projects.

What are the steps taken by the institute to train the students for placement?

“Pre-placement training is an integral part of the placement cells prominent operations”

We start the training from the fifth semester of the course. We train our students on how to solve the interview examinations and group discussions for scoring good placements. We also conduct mock interviews so they can easily clear the HR interview.

What are the steps taken by the institute to help the economically poor background people?

“Financial help provided to meritorious students under various government & institutional schemes”

Multiple steps are taken by the government and the institute itself for helping the students who are coming from an economically poor background. Anybody who falls in this category receives financial help for the tuition fees. In addition to this, they also receive financial aid on an annual basis for other expenses.

How do you ensure healthy relationships between the faculties and the students?

“Regular grievance redressal and personal attention to every student”

In Emeralds Educational institution faculties are totally dedicated towards their students. The faculties take regular classes and interact very well with the students. The faculties have good communication with the students and they solve every problem. Proper time is dedicated to every student to solve any issue they are facing.

Anything else that you would like to add about your college?

“Great infrastructure, hostel facilities, library with 1000+ books and ample facilities”

We have a very well-equipped computer lab which is easily accessible to every student. The whole college has a centralized air-conditioned facility. For the smooth running of the institution, we also have UPS and a generator as a backup power source. The college also has a well-equipped library. The college campus has hostel facilities for the students. Most of the intake in our colleges is from the nearby districts Chittoor Kadapa and Anantapur. Few students also come from Tamil Nadu. 

What message you would like to give to today's youth and aspiring students?

“The student should not get distracted in their educational journey”

What I have noticed over the past 15 years of my teaching experience is that students are losing the motivation behind education. A loss of focus is prevalent as students are involved in other activities rather than focusing on education. Students are not regular and punctual to the college. My message to the student will be to focus on your academics as well as co-curricular activities.
