Interview: Mr. Kattamuri Pradeep, Centre Director of JD Institute of Fashion Technology|Collegedunia

Kattamuri Pradeep is currently the Centre Director of JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Hyderabad. He completed his B.Sc in Computers in 2005 from Gayatri college, Visakhapatnam. As soon as he completed his graduation, he business started his career by setting up a recruitment firm in Hyderabad and put his heart and soul into it for about two years.

Later, Mr. Pradeep entered food industry by starting a Bakery in Visakhapatnam in 2007. He then realized that he should start something that could create an impact on students by teaching them skill for life and hence decided to start a fashion college. Therefore, he took a franchisee from JD in 2012. Now, he wants to a build a new empire with JD Institute, Hyderabad.

Mr. Pradeep’s experience in the education industry

I have about 5 years of experience in running JD Institute. Running a fashion college is very interesting because it’s not a regular course. You have a lot of passionate people with Creative Minds to change the world and people with their thoughts. I feel creativity gives you more relaxation.

Significant challenges faced by Mr. Pradeep as the Director of JD Institute of Fashion Technology

Yes, we have faced a lot of challenges in this Fashion College because people are not so much aware of fashion and it’s a misconception in the society that students will not have a great career. So, getting them to the institute and explaining them, and getting them to join is a time-taking process. The number of students is less in the initial stages, so I feel people are not preferring lack of proper information in the fashion industry. But things have changed and you have a lot of opportunity in fashion, so now it’s much better compared with last 5 years.

Curriculum of JD Institute

Our curriculum ensures the best practice because JD has been there for last 30 years in Industry, so they have a very strong observation on the market how things have been changing. They are observing the change and based on that, they are upgrading the courses with the new curriculum.

Goals in mind for JD Institute of Fashion Technology

My goals are to make the JD Brand bigger in both the states (AP & Telangana) and give the best service with a quality education.

Mr. Pradeep on how he ensures the quality of education in your institution

Yes, we pride ourselves on the education we are providing to the students. With the support of the experienced and friendly faculty, we ensure the quality of education with the help and support of the Delhi office. All the course curriculum will be provided by the experienced faculty from Delhi office and also the placements for the students.

Mr. Pradeep’s views to build a positive school culture

Positive School Culture would be possible only when all the faculty are friendly with the students and doing workshops related to the subjects to make the classes more interesting and celebrate all the festivals irrespective of the religions with the fashion wears.

Mr. Pradeep on the relation with the students

We establish a very good relationship with the students by interacting one to one, any try to solve their doubts in a friendly manner.

Growth of students through placement opportunities available at JD Institute of Fashion Technology

In JD, the placements and internships are great because it is done in all states so the opportunities are vast. We have a job portal in JD website where students who have completed their course can upload their resumes. So, this is the best service which no other institutes are providing.
