Adaptation plays a significant role to learn and grow optimally

Dr.Suresh Prasad Tiwari is the Dean faculty of Agriculture at Mangalayatan University Jabalpur. He has 40 years of varied experience and brings with him diversified learning. His aim is to develop an experiential learning environment for students to grow and prosper. For the same, he focuses on helping students explore various verticals. Read here what he has to say in his interview.

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“My passion to work with young minds and create an aura of excellence keeps me connected”

Teaching is an incredible and noble profession that keeps you young and a learner throughout life—my dedication to earn my potential knowledge and innovative research in the field of disease management. I worked in various positions as a teacher and researcher. In such a novel profession, PhD scholars were guided with innovative research.

What are your thoughts on the different education systems in India and other countries?

“The education system in India and other foreign countries is structured differently”

In the agriculture education system, ICAR guidelines are borne in mind for being a standard syllabus of entire universities affiliated/ accredited from ICAR. To fulfill the Institute-farmers gap, individual working must be passive. It will develop cordial relationships between scholar and teacher.

Whereas in the foreign education system, a lot of diversification depends on the environment, culture, and custom. They believe in freedom and more linearization during their education. Hence most of the education opportunities are arranged by respective organizations. 

How does the curriculum of Managalayatan group ensure the best practice of education?

“We bring in a different approach to teach students and help them grow”

Being an Autonomous organization, we regularly revise our course curriculum. The curriculum is approved by academic council/ university boards of management with their vast experience and their suggestions build a bridge of development. We ensure to inculcate the best industry practices to uplift the standard of education and provide a different aspect towards learning practically.

What are some of the biggest challenges you see, both for higher education in general and for MUJ specifically?

“To bring instantaneous digital changes is posing a challenge in the current scenario”

The prime challenge for higher education is enforcing a shift of visual education to virtual/ digitization and the education system to benefit workforce generation. Students during such periods, a calm and quite sincere approach is required. Everyone is ready to accept the challenges for a quality educational system.

What are your learnings from the pandemic and how are you dealing with the situation?

“Pandemic posed serious challenges to evolve and come up with better solutions”

Pandemic 2020 forced us to understand and required attention from everyone. Further, I can utilize the available resources optimally. I can teach our students through digital mode and faculty deliver their contents through videos, ppts, and live teaching through licenses Zoom App. This teaching mode is the future as we are getting excellent results in class attendance and their performance. 

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

“Self-learning is a better option”

Adaptation of the current scenario accordingly generates a career path. It is not necessary that students are involved in their activities. Still, most importantly, one should not trust the shortcut approach in life. To be successful, it required hard work, determination, and devotion to achieve a goal. 

How do you tend to establish a healthy relation and environment in your institute?

“I ensure that students are groomed and prepared for their future”

My approach and steps should be full as per the advice of government guidelines. Everyone must be responsible for the improvement and development of favoring students. I must ensure the most flexible and impartial behaviour toward students. There is an online web-based feedback system. 

I strongly believe in the capabilities of my team members and never doubt their intentions. I try to create an environment that supports everyone around me so that they can deliver their best.
