Dr. Manish Sharma has been working as the Principal of Gaur Brahman Ayurvedic College, Rohtak, Haryana. He is a M. S. General Surgeon and also has done Graduation in BAMS. He also has 12 years of experience performing a variety of surgical procedures such as appendix removals and general surgeries. He is a detail-oriented individual with thorough knowledge of modern surgical practices and conducted various common surgical procedures such as appendectomies, hemorrhoidectomies, inguinal hernia repairs and to restore health in patients.

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

"My passion to offer a better life to others by educating youths and students"

We all know that good education helps one to think, feel, and behave in a way that contributes to their success, and improves not only their personal satisfaction but also of the community they belong from. In addition, education develops human personality, thoughts and prepares them to confidently face life experiences. And the thing which keeps me intacted in the education sector is definitely my passion to educate others and help them to create a better life for themselves. I feel immensely pleased when I interact with young minds and the future of our country.


Being the principal of GBAC, what is your philosophy of leadership? 

"A true leader gives equal opportunities to every team member to speak and use their skills"

I believe in a participative kind of leadership and a true leader always gives a fair chance to everyone working with him to utilize their skills, give suggestions to improve the overall system. And for me, student participation is also equally important as they are our main pillar and when they will be given undivided attention and opportunities to learn, they will get more confidence. 


How do you strategize the key programs for the marketing and administration of your college?

"By thoroughly discussion things with our administration and faculty to inculcate their inputs"

Our Gaur Brahman Ayurvedic College and hospital has a heritage of 50+ years serving the society, by creating well aware and well trained doctors. We do a thorough discussion with our teachers, administration, parents and communities before curriculum designing or taking any important decision for college or students. Taking everyone's input helps us to identify gaps between industry standards and our education policies and also tell us our strengths. It also gives teachers a platform to share best practices, knowledge and resources with each other.

How does the curriculum of your college ensure the best practices of industry?

We draft and update our curriculum on a regular basis after rigourous consultation with the industry experts and academicians and also after considering our students' needs, because the main goal of this curriculum is to help students learn in the best possible way. This practice helps us to include new programs and training in the curriculum and discard the old one as per changing trends, technologies and skills set students will need in the future.

Our curriculum reflects the national culture in which we operate and offer education to students. What are your responsibilities towards the college and the students?

Being the Director, my job is to ensure that the finest quality education is provided to students and curriculum remains updated in line with industrial development, demands and happenings. I also need to monitor students' academic progress and supervise college activities.

Our vision is to transform students and youths' lives by engaging them in a continuous learning process, identifying and addressing critical issues related to their education and using technology to bring the best opportunities for them. When you joined GBAC, what was your vision for the college? Has it evolved over time?

"My vision was to update college infra, teaching pedagogy and courses as per industry standards"

It gives me immense pleasure to join GBAC as a Director because this is my parent institution and I did my graduation from here in 2004. And after completing my Post Graduation, I joined back this institute in 2010 with an objective to upgrade curriculum as per latest industry happenings and also to update exam pattern, teaching-learning techniques etc. We regularly conduct events like seminars, training workshops and guest lectures but still it's a long way to go.


What would you like people to know about your college?

"We strive to provide best quality healthcare services to society and our legacy is its best example"

Ayurveda means the science of life and it is a discipline of the upaveda or auxiliary knowledge in Vedic tradition. The aim of this system is to prevent illness¸ heal the sick and preserve life. Ayurveda has its origins from India and extended its wings in various parts of the world. And our college GBAC is trying to serve society at root level and is successfully running a 100 bedded hospital serving people residing in nearby villages.
