Mr. Nishant Joshi is the Director at Mod'art International, Mumbai. Mr. Nishant Joshi began working young as an authorized distributor of PepsiCo India and Pepsi products in Mumbai. He later went on to collaborate with the leading fashion educational institute of Europe, Mod’Art International Paris to form Mod’Art India, which is now Mumbai School of Design.As an integral part of this institute, he aims to provide world-class education and global opportunities to its students. His purpose is to feed the growth of indigenous designs in the fashion areas of this country.

What keeps you connected with the Education Sector?

It took us about 5 yrs to build our brand, we understood it’s a long term commitment. Excellence needs to be worked on when so many futures are at stake. The world needs intellectuals, entrepreneurs, and top-notch leaders in every field. But above all the society needs benevolent individuals with great values towards humanity. The education sector provides the opportunity to produce scholars in many disciplines who could put in efforts to make a difference in society. 


What is your philosophy of leadership?

“To be a mentor that can support and guide all his students and colleagues”

I believe any institution prospers with its capable and dedicated management, and overwhelming support staff. Keeping up with my views, I strongly emphasize decentralized and democratic leadership style of implementing ideas and I have gained positive outcomes following the same conviction. Won’t call it leadership, will call it mentoring. 


How does the curriculum of Mod'art International ensure the best practice of the industry?

“A globally set curriculum that allows us to make our students industry-ready”

Working with an international university, we follow most of the curriculum set by them. We tweak it to suit the Indian market while keeping it global in terms of relevancy. What do you think your responsibilities to the Institute and the students are?

Our goal is also to make our University a destination of choice on account of our learner-centered approach and a culture of learning and reflection. How do you strategize about the marketing plans of your school?

“A strong digital presence with an intricately designed ad-campaign”

We constantly upgrade our programs to be relevant not only to the current market requirements but also to the latest upcoming trends that will give our students an edge in the competitive job market. It is very important to be nimble in this regard to provide the most relevant learning to our students.

For marketing, we rely largely on the quality of our programs to do the bulk of the talking.
