What are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

“Provide an environment conducive to dynamic learning”

Being Head of the Pharmaceutics department my roles and responsibilities are not different from the other head of departments. It includes facilitating my colleagues and the students for appropriate teaching and learning. Also, to provide them with the resources that they need for the research activities.

How do you tend to establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?

I provide them with the liberty and freedom to access knowledge resources”

I believe in teamwork and collaborative efforts. Hence, I involve the students and faculty in my research work and administrative operations. Student feedback is used to improve teaching practice. Such feedback can be used to help teachers build deeper relationships with students. Additionally, meeting with a faculty individually is one of the best ways to establish a positive working relationship

How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects?

“Experiential learning is enabled via 4 different modules of training”

We have incorporated 4 different modules of training for the students in practice school concept. These modules are very much in line with the industrial operations and processes thereof. Also, we give them enough exposure by running the experiments based on the formulation development of various dosage forms.

How do you strategize the curriculum of your institute?

“The curriculum set by the apex body is strictly followed for best results”

We follow the prescribed syllabus set by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). However, to keep it updated and industry-oriented, we have incorporated a few changes in it. We identify the curriculum gap and advice the Board of Studies (BoS) accordingly.

How do you help your student thrive in the current competitive world?

“Constant support and motivation to maintain a healthy competitive spirit”

Continuous monitoring, counselling and handholding strengthen our students mentally to take on any challenge of life. We continuously motivate our students to enhance their knowledge and skills. The most important strengths of my department are:-

  • Healthy student-teacher interaction
  • Industry connect is very excellent
  • Facilities, faculties and other resources

We are trying to enhance these strengths by submitting our projects to various funding agencies and getting grants for the upgradation of facilities.

What valuable advice would you like to the students for a prosperous career?

“Right attitude with hard work will be the biggest safeguards while sailing in the sea of competition”

When you graduate and step into the real world, you won't have a syllabus or an academic calendar to guide you. That fact alone is why you're going to fail a lot at first. Just remember it's a learning experience, and the more you practice, the more you'll succeed.
