It’s difficult to compare these branches or any other branches of engineering until and unless you specify the parameters of comparison. Scope, placements, future opportunities, etc., play an important role in differentiating the branches. Also, you should choose based on your interest and future goal while opting for a branch rather than on such parameters.
Now, if you do not have any interest in any particular branch and like most of the students out there, are doing it for the B.Tech tag, you can opt for any of the branches. Both the branches at NIT Trichy are at par. You will get decent placement opportunities from both the branch, provided you maintain decent CGPA. According to the recent placement highlights, the average CTC offered by NIT Trichy is 6 LPA.
Since my sister is studying at SVNIT, I might be able to help you with your question. The placements at SVNIT in the department of chemical engineering are quite moderate.

One of my friends studied Chemical Engineering at BITS Pilani. According to him, it is a really tough stream. It is suggested not to drop a year instead ensure that you work very hard.
Herewith I'm providing the basic details for BITS Pilani :
PARAMETERS | BITS PILANI |
Tuition Fees | INR 1.78 LPA |
Placement Percentage | 99% |
Average Package | INR 17 LPA |
If you opt to drop and secure admission in an IIT, you will be getting only one degree after 4 years. Whereas, you can get 2 individual degrees from BITS after 5 years. There is not much of a difference between BITS and IITs. It is certainly better than the new ones. The top 5 or 6 IITs are better than BITS but letting go of one more year might not be a wise decision.
You should choose BITS Goa Chemical. You will get better placement and exposure. BITS Goa placements 2021 had an average CTC of INR 9.05 LPA. While the highest CTC stood around INR 16 LPA.
You can also opt for the dual degree program at BITS, this will give you exposure to various branches of Engineering, during the first year. If you score a good GPA in your first year, you will be able to take the engineering branch of your interest.
NIT Surathkal, also known as the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, is one of the top engineering colleges in India, and it offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in engineering, including chemical engineering. The placement of students in chemical engineering or any other branch of engineering depends on several factors, such as the reputation of the college, the academic performance of the students, the demand for the specific branch in the job market, and the economic conditions of the country.
That being said, NITs in India are generally known for their good placement records, and NIT Surathkal is no exception. The college has a dedicated placement cell that works to ensure that students get placed in reputed companies and organizations. Some of the top recruiters for chemical engineering in NIT Surathkal include:
Apart from these, many other companies also visit the campus for recruitment, offering roles in core engineering as well as management and consultancy. Chemical Engineering at NIT Raipur will definitely be a good choice. As far as facilities and other parameters are concerned, here’s what you should know.
Highlights:
Overall, this is a great place to pursue chemical engineering in. You should definitely go ahead.
Irrespective of whichever Institute you go for, CSE is the most demanded branch today and has the best pay scale and job prospects. So, if it’s placements you are after, then BITS Pilani CSE is the right choice for you.
However, if you want to become an entrepreneur then Delhi being the capital is the absolute best place for you. Choosing IIT Delhi on the pretext of learning coding in the last year is a wrong mindset and at the end of the day, you will find yourself with little exposure and knowledge than those who learned coding for 4 years.
Make a well-informed decision considering the pros and cons of both institutes and courses.
One of my cousins studied at Amrita. According to him, chemical engineering at Amrita is superior and advanced in comparison with other colleges.
However, the students do not get placements in core companies on their completion of UG course. Acquiring a job after higher studies would be less of a hassle. UG here would be a great choice.
