MBA from Visvesvaraya Technological University

Visvesvaraya Technological University, VTU's minimum passing mark is 35%, with 40% in practical, project work, viva voce, and so on. It should be 40% after aggregation, including theory and internal marks. If a student fails only one subject, passes all exams with grace marks, or receives minimum pass marks in theory, practical, or internal and scores less after aggregation, 5 marks will be awarded.

Each candidate must receive at least 50% of the marks allotted for each subject's internal assessment, including the seminar. Candidates who receive less than 50% of the Internal Assessment marks in any subject are ineligible to take the exam in that subject.

For passing a theory subject, a candidate must obtain a minimum of 40% in the University Examination and a minimum of 50% in the aggregate including the Internal Assessment marks.

You need to score at least 40% marks in practical, or projects and the total aggregate including theory and practice should be 40%. However, the minimum passing mark is 35%.

Grades range from O to E and if you have secured an F grade, then you have to reappear for the exams. You can also get grace marks of 5 if you fail in one subject or score less in theory as well as practical subjects.

For MBA the eligibility is quite different. You need to fulfill the attendance criterion i.e 85% and 50% in internal assessments, otherwise, you will not be allowed to appear for the exams. Also, HOD can conduct the re- internal assessments so that the students securing less can score better.
